I have a brake buddy vantage system and several times the remote will not communicate with the brake buddy in the tow vehicle. It works okay for a while after turning it on and then seems to quit working. I have the remote placed on the dash, near the steering wheel. When you press the button to change the braking, it acts like the remote is not powering up. I have moved the remote to a different location, but still no luck. I have tried it with new batteries, and with the electrical connector. If I take the remote back to the tow vehicle, it seems to work okay then. Has anyone else had problem with this?
I haven't had that problem but have read where others have. I think Brake Buddy will suggest that you have a direct connection from your battery to your unit rather than going thru the lighter/acc. socket for power. They seem to suggest that fix for many maladys of their product. Do a few searches here for more info.
BTW, Brake Buddy, in the past, has sent out at no charge a wire kit to make that direct connection. Just call and ask if you need to try that.
You need to read this thread about Brake Buddy.
The thread was in this fourm but seems to have disapeared....
