Hello,

I'm taking a trip to Quebec Canada for 2 weeks. I have a dish network satellite antenna and receiver. I talked to dish network technical support today and they told me I could not get satellite 119 nor 110 from anywhere in Canada.

Can anyone give some tips on how to get a signal in Quebec? I do have an electronic satellite finder.

My email address is: jpnuytten@hotmail.com

Thanks in advance for any help with

If they told you that your unable to...then you most likely won't be able to no matter what you try.

Nah............. its all politics between US and Canada.

I have tuned to Dishnet in the Yukon, not many channels as the angle of the dish gets lower as one moves north.

Quebec should be fine.

pssst don't tell "dishnet"

We are headed to Canada next month we are taking our Dish Network, I thought it might be harder to get signal but should still get it. Is it worth taking?

Here you go-this is an image of the 119(Echostar7) CONUS beam pattern:

And here's an image of the 110(Echostar8) CONUS beam pattern:

As long as you don't get too far north, you'll get good signal.

As long as you are within the 43db ring of the footprint and not blocked by an obstruction, you will probably receive Dish Network. Now Direct TV is a totally other problem, with the answer being probably no either south or north of the US borders, without some drastically different hardware.
