I know a lot of what you are going through is venting because its frustrating to attach yourself to these TT's only to find a sub-standard day at work for one has caused a financial and personal burden for someone else. Ask Keith99RS, we both had the same TT unit that had a major slide issue, mine was fixed, his was replaced. We both sounded a lot like you, but we worked through them by doing the right things, partnering with the manufacturers and dealers to get them onboard to a common cause, getting our TT's fixed. Your getting some push back here because a lot of people own and like these units and are also personally attached, and may never have to go through what you are experiencing. If they are like me, they really want to know how the manufactuer and the dealer are handling this so they will have constructive info should the need arise. I also bought mine through Mcgeorge, so I really have a dog in the hunt. Good luck and keep us up on the details.
Thank you ...this was very well put and I appreciate it...sorry to hear so many are having issues with their keystone products and hoping we don't have them in the future. So far so good and we've been through the rains.

Quote: If I'm not mistaken, wasn't the Passport line new to Keystone in 2007?
Yes.....and no.
The Passport line of TT's replaced a very troublesome line of trailers that went by the name of Zeppelin. Many if not all of the Zeppelin's issues that helped it's demise have now been cropping up on the Passport line of TT's at an alarming rate - exactly line the Zeppy's did.
It seems like it's the same-o, same-o - just with another name on the side.
To the OP.
I understand the frustration. I've had a couple of "lemon" cars myself and can completely understand how upsetting and frustrating this can be. Typically though, cooler heads usually prevail and if done correctly you can get your problems solved.
First off, write down any and all conversations. Who you talked to, date, time and what was said, what was promised etc.
Next, write a nice letter to the head service guy and/or the owner of the RV place and explain the issues factually - with no emotion. Send same letter to Keystone. If you go with just the facts without the emotion, any anger, resentment or frustration is left out leaving you with a nice letter outlining the issues at hand. If you'd like to ask Keystone for a different repair center closer in that they will approve then do so at this time.
In this letter outline what you would like done - i.e. "I would like the approved service center to look at my trailer - vin # XXXXXX - and give an adequate assessment as to it's ability to be repaired. Due to the extent of water damage, interior damage and delamination, I feel that the trailer is beyond repair and am requesting a replacement trailer of equal value at this time. Please see enclosed photos for your perusal to give you an idea of what shape the trailer is in".
Something like that gives them the idea that the trailer is in serious shape, the request is put in early for a replacement and you can now work with Keystone to that end.
Your other line of action if things get stalled or aren't solved to your satisfaction is to contact one of those RV Action Lines - Good Sam has one as does Trailer Life. They are pretty good at getting problems solved between manufacturer and consumer - usually in the consumers favor.
In the end, all makers make a lemon. It does seem, however, that the Passport is a troublesome line (like the Zeppy's before it) and that some of their other lines of TT's are not as troublesome.
Stay calm, take a deep breath and start the process. Anger and frustration - though real - will not further your cause and you will just be written off as a hot head and ignored. When you smile and are nice (yes, even biting your tongue in the process) you will get a lot farther and get a lot more done to your satisfaction and they will be more apt to work with you when your not threatening from the get go. Save the lawyers, lawsuits and anger for the very end when it becomes required to do so. To start out this way leaves no room for negotiation and movement and will usually end up taking as long and cost a lot more.
They would not give me any kind of receipt when I picked up the trailer. I thought by law they are supposed to give a receipt of the work performed. Im going to contact the attorney generals office today to find out.
The fix for the wall and floor was a simple piece of molding, but she told me that the entire wall was replaced.

What is your complaint? Looks like from your last post you are receiving repairs. The dealership the email is from seems to have resolved or is in process of resolving you issues. If you ask, you should receive a workorder or list of what work was done. I don't see why the dealer would balk at that. Looks like they did give you a list by the email. If the unit is fixed and the rest of the repairs are done you should be in business.
Well it certainly isnt leaking from the slide ... at least when closed. It rained very well last night on the way home.
Im not confident that they did what they said they did.
To be honest Im just really turned off right now. Dealing with this junk coupled with the price of gas .... Im thinking maybe its time to cut the losses and get out of the game. When we camp, well use cabins.
But Im not sure if I could even get rid of it right now anyway... even accepting a decent loss. All things considered, the cost of a lawyer is just as much as if I took a 5 to 8k loss .... the general reply was "have good chance" or "will probably" win. If not, I still have a piece of******trailer with another 5 or 8k into it.
McGeorges got in touch with me again after I replied to an unsolicited email I received from them ... told me that there was "a place in Garner" that could help me. They miss the point altogether. They took my money. They should be making it right. By making it right, I mean, simply give me another 08 Passport. BUT, I dont want them touching this unit because of the few service experiences I had. Their customer service is atrocious. You dont have a team meeting to give out awards just after you open with 8 or 10 people waiting to check in.
I ask myself, If they behave like that right out in the open where customers can observe, what are they doing when working on vehicles and customers are not around ?
So .. we're kicking around what we are going to do, meanwhile hoping lighting strikes it, its taken away by tidal wave or its sucked into a vortex so that gap will pick up the balance
Im not as trusting as you may be. I saw what she was holding in her hand as we went over the repairs. A hand written form of the mechanics explanation of what the problems were. That is what I should be given. Just like when I drop off my Tow vehicle for repairs.
Sumguy - I always verify repairs are to my satisfaction before I leave the dealership. I understand that the slide leak is a different and tougher matter. The dealership you wound up taking it to should have no problem giving you a copy of the completed work order. If they are a Keystone Authorized Service dealer they should have records of repair for their records and to supply to Keystone if there are future problems.
The fact that you got a trailer with defects is not McGeorges fault. They cannot replace it. They buy it from the manufacturer just like you buy it from the dealer. They own it until they sell it. Granted they likely did a poor PDI on it and their service department was useless, but they cannot relace your camper. They would lose all money on the sale by having to buy another from Keystone and then be left with a camper they paid full price for that they can only sell as used and for a fraction of the cost. The only one who is going to give you a new camper is Keystone. They are the only ones who can do it.
There are these little plastic things you install on the tub that will divert the water back into the tub instead of onto the floor. I can't remember what they are called - and can't find them on Camping World website - Does anyone know what they are called? I think this will solve his issue with #8 at least.
It looks like that they are working to fix your trailer. And the other poster was correct - McGeorges can't do anything re: replacement of your trailer - that is done through the Manufacturer in this case, Keystone.
It does sound like the repairs are getting done. MANY, MANY people have worse issues, do eventually get them solved and go on to enjoy camping in their trailers. LAdams is one of them, IIRC. had quite a few issues with his trailer. I hope that you can get to that point and start enjoying it again. Life is too short! Yes, you have issues and yes, it's a pain in the behind to get them solved and fixed but once their done and fixed then some "letting go" needs to be done and you need to once again find joy in owning an RV. Just don't do anything rash and quick based on emotions that are going on right now.
