Hello to all of you die hard Topsail campers...The family will be heading out in a couple of weeks for our first trip to Topsail. We are all so excited. I do have one question for all of you, if you arrive and your site still has the previous occupants on it is there a place you can park your RV until they leave? If not at the campground it there a place close by that you can sit it out?

They won't let you check in early unless the site is already vacant. There is lots of places to go and park in the area if you need to. Grayton beach state park is only a couple of miles away and is a great place to spend time while you wait for check in time.

Call TopSail and see if they will let you park in the day use park area.

They allow you park in the day use area. You can still take the trolley to the beach from there while you're waiting....

Yes, we've done this, and if your site is vacant when you get there, they will let you occupy it early.

You usually see a big rig parked by the office in the morning waiting - but the people were still in it - waiting

If your site is ready, you can check in early. If not...you can park at the day use (which is for people who are not staying at the park, but want the beach access). Then you can keep checking throughout the morning to see if it's open. We usually get there around 11-12 and have never had a problem with getting our site right away.

Its not "hang out at the beach" weather. I'd expect low/mid 60's for a high and low's in the 40's. Water temps in the mid 60's. It COULD be warmer than that. But, it could also dip colder.
