I have a 1999 Nomad not enough hot water for a shower, any advice?
I know all bypass valves are opened correctly. Has anyone had any experience with an "on demand" heater?

There is only one "on-demand" propane water heater approved and safe for RV use and it costs around $900.00.

If you don't take "military" showers, turning off the shower wand between wetting and then rinsing, you will never have enough water.
I have no trouble with my 10-gallon Suburban even if the DW takes a shower right after mine.

like javaseuf said, the 10 gallon heaters are great, and probably a little cheaper than the on-demand.

I just replaced the on-demand in our house for about $750.00 last fall. We've had one for the last 8 years now and I wouldn't go back.

If we're ever able to order a new Carriage, I'm gonna spec an on-demand heater for it.

I was talking about the small 115 volt unit that fits under the sink

We have a 6 gallon hot water heater. What we have done to lengthen our hot water is to fill our fresh water tank and turn off the incomeing hose. that water in the tank is a good 20 degrees warmer that your water comeing out of the hose. so the cold water you add while showering isn't as cold so not as much hot water gets used up. this adds a good 4 min to a shower. not a lot of time but hey we're "roughing it".

Ours is a 6 gallon. DW and I very seldom have a problem running out of hot water. If we wash dishes before we are almost sure to run out. Sometimes when DW takes a little more time than normal washing her hair the 6 gallon heater reminds her to hurry up. When taking showers we usually run the water heater on both electric and gas. Recovery time is more than half the time of electric only.

I have been told that you can use both the electric and the gas at the same time to get the water to heat faster. That might give you more hot water.

It all depends on how long a shower you take. IF you leave the water running then yes you will run out of HW. If you take "GI" showers then you should be good for a couple of showers before the hot water gets luke warm. Are you sure the burner is working properly and that the temp sensor is correct?

I guess no one has used the on demand heaters to help with more hot water
