The ability to leave them open when travelling is one of the best advantages. Before adding the covers, leaving the vents open meant replacing them somewhere down the road. Been there. Done that. Never again..

My covers are not Maxx Air but are very similar, got them at Camping World. The vents have been open since the covers were installed and never had a problem, until last week. The TT is parked outside and faces North because most of the storms we get come from the North or West. Last week a storm came in from the south. It was a powerful one, lots of wind. Our neighbor lost half the roof from his barn.
We got about one and one-half inches of rain. That rain had to be blowing straight at the cover openings and yes, we got a small amount of water in thru the vents. It was negligible and wiped up with a towel. I was impressed because I expected the trailer to be very wet inside. After seeing that I will never worry about having the vents open.

We never close the vents under our Maxx Air covers unless we want to. Normally, they are open 24/7 all year, parked or on the highway.

Just had them installed on my MH, they are great just like everybody said!
Big storm came in the other day and it was nice to just sit and let it rain without running around closing vents.......only thing was I didn't have my thinking cap on I was so happy about my '2' new vents. I forgot about the normal one in the middle of the MH, 1/2 hour into the storm I went to go to the bathroom and the floor was soaked.

We leave ours open unless on AC or heat too. That's why I installed them in the first place.

Do the Maxx Air II covers obstruct the light from coming in? I'd like to install them but I don't want to lose the sky light from the vent.

Leave them open and close only with A/C or heat on. I addition, when closed with the A/C on I put a fleece covered foam block in each vent to further reduce heat from the sun or leaks that might be in the vent not closing tight. When running down the road leaving them open provides good ventilation and a cooler trailer when setting up.

We leave ours open (except with AC or heat). This question has been asked many times, and almost everyone leaves them open. There was one person who said they were on some very dusty roads, and they got some dust inside their RV.

We have three of the white MaxxAir II covers and they let a lot of light in...so much that we need to use the vent pillows for the morning sun.

This was a concern of mine also. I put a Smoke colored MaxxAir II over the bath vent and it lets in alot of light.
