We were in gold Beach a couple years ago and camped at Arizona Beach. It is a private campground, but right on the beach. I don't know if it is still there, as it was up for sale. we are huge fans of Oregon State Parks, but really loved this place. While in the area, take a Mail Boat ride. You take jet boats up the mail route on the Rogue River. You pick where you want to stop for lunch, the boat drops you off and picks you back up after lunch. The kids will love it. We are going back up the Or. Coast in Sept and can hardly wait!. Have a great trip!
