I think probably anyone has the right to be judgemental. I think that is a big part of freedom. One need not crave the approval of others to be happy, one only needs to approve of what they(themselves) are doing.
I don't think one is always being judgemental when pointing out that some make choices that effect their personal economics. I prefer to think that one is often being observant. All too often people spend far too much money on toys and entertainment. When basic costs go up they do begin to whine. If the pain gets too great then they want a government bail-out (just like those in big business that make foolish decisions).

I personally wonder why people do buy far more vehicle than they can justify by need and finances.

Same for houses that are beyond their means.

By all means everyone should buy what they want, travel as much as they want, and have as much fun as they want. As long as they can afford it. If they find themselves in a pickle of their own making don't come to the rest of society to for relief. Sell the toys and goodies. Then do like most others do and live within one's means.

Life is full of choices. I choose to have fun!

We have a high priced diesel tow vehicle and a high priced big 5th wheel and have been on the road as much as ever. We love going out and having all the comforts of home.
If gas or diesel goes up a dollar gallon more it is only a $100 dollars more a 1000 mile trip.

Joe, I am fine and one of the reasons I am fine is that I don't get pugnacious with my finances and my "rat" to go motorhoming anytime and at any price! My membership at the country club is all paid up until next Feb. and I can play golf as badly here as in some resort so I have plenty to keep me busy.
I also don't presume to know why everyone that is having financial problems is having those problems--I leave that to the experts here on the Forum that "know" these things.
I'm not on the road because I am a cheapskate at heart--somewhere between $3.50 and $3.75 was my breaking point for tolerance of diesel fuel costs--my unit can rot so far as I care--I don't enjoy $450.00 fill ups and don't want to pay five bucks to go ten miles, thank you very much.

Oldfordman.. Of course it's judgemental to point out what we think arre flaws in other's actions. BUT it's not the act of a bad person. To not judge may well be bad.

It's really a matter of how you manage your affairs and not worth talking about. Bill

My favorite posts are those who spend thousands of dollars for fuel, say it is cheaper than motels, and the memories are priceless. Your last memory will be the coroner prying the fuel nozzle from your cold dead fingers.

The first few posts questioned, more like accused, the OP of "trolling"....if the OP was "trolling" he caught way beyond his limit.

This one went full circle plus. I hope I'm not being judgmental....but then I really don't care...whiners will whine no matter what.

So, get up in the morning put on your overpriced garb, head down the stairs of your Mcmansion, jump into your gashog (if ya made the payment) head to Starbuck$, fill ur up and head to work, go real fast and tailgate the small cars.

Try something different for a change.

Mike

FTR....Oldfordman hit it on the head....not being judgmental but I am opinionated....hope thats o.k. But then its my opinion and you are intitled to it!

When did society change so that it seems that those who through either luck, good fortune, or careful planning are fairly well off and hopefully better able to weather the coming financial storms are being looked down upon by those who seemingly are not in a real good financial position?

It seems that those who managed to accumulate a few bucks are suddenly seen as tightwads who do not know how to live life.

The country has been having a party for the past five years, they have been playing musical house's, while they were dancing, the mortgage company took the house away, the music just stopped, if you didn't agree with the party, you are greedy, don't care about others, going to take it with you.

Seriously, the only reason I have made snide comments and remarks in this thread is because it's none of his (OP) business what truck or trailer anyone else drives. He is condescending and proud of himself for being so. If others have made mistakes so be it. It's their personal business. Seriously, when you read his post it sounds like penis envy or Napoleon Complex. Boo Hoo their trailers are longer than mine.
