Hey, I worked too hard for my money. Consequently, I've become a very methodical man. First, I figured out how to pay cash for just the right motorhome. Now, all I have to figure out is how to pay for as much fuel as I want. Two years later, I'm still trying. Never give up, and never lose your sense of humor.

If you had two hundred thousand in Cd's and now you get 2.4 % less per year, you now get $6 thousand dollars per year, not $10.800 per year, who got the $4,8000, a loser who couldn't buy within there means.
Yet they could get 5.4 percent to almost 6 percent on a Ginny Ma but no they do not want it they was FDIC insurance but try to tell them that it is the same gov guarantee and you get a blank stare. there are options but many refuse to look at them.

Anyone else get tired of all the negative from "experts" who are "friends of friends" that are going under?
Give it a rest--before this old beauty of a country goes under there are going to be a whole line of other nations taking a dive and that's not liable to happen.
But if you insist on being the harbingers of doom, have at it, your "I told you so's!" aren't going to do you, me, or anyone else a damn bit of good if you happen to be right.
Supercharged you are correct. I think that we had a misunderstanding with an earlier thread. Skidster and the Cloud man are also right on. My grandparents didn't buy their first house until they could pay cash for it. Never bought a car until they could pay cash for it.
We didn't buy a MH until we could pay cash for it. One poster on this thread has a 2006 truck, 2006 trailer, 2006 this and a 2006 that. I wonder if they are all paid for. None of my business. And don't care.
People just need to make the best of what they have, cut their losses and move on. A bad day in the USA still beats a great day almost anyplace else.

Many of the folks here don't have a soft job working for the state of Id. where they can retire with the tax payer picking up the tag.

What is the real problem ??? It isn't Gas Prices, Debt Ratio, or Sub-Prime. The Problem is that We the Tax-Payers in this Country are saddled with the expense of being the worlds Police Force and Salvation Army, we make it possible for foreign governments to be able to subsidize their industries, avoid having to provide for the humanitarian needs of their poor, exempt their heavy industries from environmental regulations and restraints, restrict trade as to bolster their own economies, we allow them to band together in economic coalitions in order to hold us hostage and induce artificial market forces directed solely as to detrimentally impact our economy. Then when their own totalitarian governments run into problems and they start to feed upon each other, they come running to US to solve their issues. Then The Good Ol' Boys, the " near poverty types " that we elect to govern us, cut deals, make speeches, set up programs and award contracts, pass budgets as spend so much money on the Issues of these Poor Needy People, that the average American will never realize the American Dream, never have the Standard of Living of... lets say the Irish ( Now a very wealthy Country, due to our weakness, ever wonder how much they contribute to Peace Keeping or Humanitarian Efforts ????) . Then there is the Real Sad Part of the Story... Gas may go to $7.00+ per Gallon, but an American Soldiers Blood goes for less, and is never appreciated or thought of as much of a Loss by many of the So Called Friends of Our Country. Think about this......." Do you know of any Injured G.I. getting a Get Well Card, or a Fruit Basket from Kuwait....Any of those Mercedes Driving, with Camels tied to the Bumper Refugees ever send Flowers, Attend the Funerals, or Aid the Families of our Dead Soldiers.
We need to realign our values, and set our priorites..... and Demand Responsible Government from those we Elect. Then we can all go Camping !!
That's what I love about this forum,we never get a couple of know it all, pompous, loud mouth, smarter than everyone else, richer than everybody else, windbags on here being judgmental and telling us why we lived or lives wrong and don't have the money they have.......because if we did we'd tell them they are a couple JERKS and wouldn't pay any attention to them anyway.....

If you are referring to me you are correct. It's none of your business and you shouldn't care but since you took the time to voice your opinion I'll clear it up for you. Everything you see in my sig is paid for with the exception of my trailer. And I make my monthly payment on time every month and will continue to do so.
In my past younger years I had my share and more of toys. Lots of boats, cars, motorcycles, Rv's,guns, collector cars, you name it. But when the good times started to turn on me, I had a adv. in the paper the next day and sold the toys.
We all have had them, but there is a time to hold them and a time to fold them.
