Its always everyone else hurting, and the ones posting here are the fortunate, smart ones.
I agree 100%......the ones bad-off are actually working and don't have time to post here.

Maybe. Or, is the truth more like, there a lot more people than you realize that are living in an online fantasy here.

Sorry, but I'm just not convinced everyone posting on here, is as well off as they frequently try to make you think. Not gonna call any names, but like I said before...Somewhere, theys some folks logging into RV.net that are kinda like what Brad Paisley talks about in that 'Online' song. But, instead of growing a few inches and losing a lot of weight and becoming real good looking....They lose a lot of debt, gain a lot of good investments, acquire a crystal ball for always being able to predict the future correctly, etc.

We all know and have read about where that kind of thing goes on in *other* types of online forums/groups, do you not think it goes on here, too?

I think we all know the answer.

Regarding most people "Living at the edge of their income"

I'm told. don't know how true it is but I tend to trust the source, but I'm told that the national average is 1.22 spent for every 1.00 take home.

That's not living "At the edge" That's living 22% OVER the edge
For the life of me, I can't under stand how a father who might have two or three children under his care would go out and bury his family in debt so far with toys like boats, Rv,trick trucks, all kinds of other toys. When he knows he needs to first put funds aside to educate his kids, have funds set aside for health issures that might not be covered by ins.Maybe help his parents if something happens in there lifes. Who are these fools that are running around crying the blues to the rest of us.

What gives you the right to preach to others and tell them how to live. Personally, I make pleanty of money but find this sort of high and mighty attitude of you and those like you very entertaining. I certainly don't like the gas prices and will change some of my habits to compensate. Oh, and I somehow managed to put one of those kids you are so worried about through college. One down, two to go. Now back to crying the blues.
I see you are from CA. so I must take that into consideration, and I also see you have most of the toys I was talking about. I would start to look for the bridge I would want to live under soon.
Most of the millionaires I know don't have anywhere near all that junk. LOL!

Hey, wait a minute. You can't call my junk, junk. Only I can call my junk, junk. Now I have been insulted. Okay how much do you think I have invested in my junk? It may not be as bad as you think.

Gee, I guess this forum must be just for the rich and elite that know everything, 'cause nearly everyone who posts here seems to be that way, LOL. Want to solve all your financial problems, be able to afford everything you want and pay cash for it all, regardless of economic conditions? No problem, just log into RV.net, and you can instantly become that way. Hahahahaha!!

Kind of reminds me of a country song Brad Paisley wrote, entitled 'Online'. It talks 'bout a young fellow thats somewhat of a loser in real life, yet when he logs into the internet, he loses a bunch of weight, grows a few inches taller, gains lots of $$, becomes incredibly good-looking, has several girlfriends, etc. Amazingly, logging onto the internet makes him transform completely. Gee, ya think some of that goes on around here? Naaaaa....

..Not accusing anyone specifically of anything, just saying....I find it very hard to believe sooo many folks really are as smart and well off as they lead you to believe online. Somewhere out there...theys some folks more like what Brad Paisley described in his song.

Hahahahaaaa.
Guess you are talking about me.
Believe it or not, I have not made a personal interest payment in forty years.

I can afford anything I want, not everything that the Joneses think I should have.
I have seen every state exept three, I have been to Alaska once and Florida more times than I can count.

I pay cash for everything, always have, I do not consider myself rich but am not worried about money.

There are thousands of us out here, we are the ones shopping at K mart instead of Sacs, we are the ones driving an older paid for RV, not a Greyhound sized rig with only two hundred and twenty payments to go.

All we have done throughout our lives is spend just a little less than we earned.
You should try it, maybe in twenty or thirty years you too will not be concerned with price increases and the cost of borrowing.

And yes, I do feel sorry for those behind the eight ball.
In my opinion, the financial turmoil of the last year or so is just the beginning, wait a while, you aint seen nothing yet.

This post is not to brag.
It is to counteract the statement that everyone who says they are content with their finances is a liar.

Life is short,Death is long,
Take a vacation.

I'm a billionaire and I'm retiring to operate my charitable organizations. I shouldn't even be posting in this thread because I have so much money, but the entertainment value is too difficult to pass up.

Seriously, why are some so concerned with the finances of others? Those that are rich can buy our foreclosed homes for next to nothing and control entire neighborhoods. Think of all the benefits as your overspent neighbors begin dropping off one by one. The rich, smart people on this site can buy up the properties and become slum lords. The rest of us can then post begging for rent control and such.

Now the coffee industry has been affected. I should be able to save enough money to pay for all of my junk if they close the Starbucks in the building I work in. That stuff is expensive and addictive.

You guys need to wake up. There is more at stake here than a few people's personal finances. A bad economy will effect us all eventually. I'll bet there were people talking smack about the over extended just before the Great Depression. In the end they probably weren't much better off unless they had their money hidden in a mattress.

Good point. Seems like they would be more concerned with their own family debt, instead of trying to send traffic to some guy down at a commercial RV park.

Looking at most of the people who post that they can't stay in RV parks and they can't afford fuel, tires and the rest.
It is simple, they spend so much on all the goodies. A 45 thousand dollar plus diesel 6 passager, 4x4 with all the goodies on it, a 5th wheel 1/3 longer than needed and twice a expense as they needed to do the job. Now they are all yelling, it cost so much for the fuel.
Now lets say you travel like us about 7000 miles in the summer. Lets take 10 mpg for the mileage, and take three years ago at $2 dollars per gal. now it is $4.50. So the old and new number for gal is 700 gals. time two dollars or $1400 dollars, now at $4.50 it is $3150. or $1750. more for this summer.
Now remember you could have bought a pickup for $20,000 less than you did, and a 5th wheel or even a nice travel trailer for $30,000 less. Take $50,000 x 8 percent interest, that is $4000 dollar per year you could have spend on fuel and had $2300 dollars left over for Rv Parks, steaks and beer. I see the answer, what is the problem. Is this another subprime problem in ones life.
Simple.....you pegged it Supercharged.....they don't have the $1,750.00 difference for fuel now. Read the posts how many are parked permanently and won't be used at all.....they're tapped-out....
