Picked up my toad and tow bar today.
First disconnect;
One arm came off ok the second one took 4 guys and a hammer.
?

When you close arms on tow bar and push up to lock into the
opening it doesn't line up to the notch to go in to lock and swivel.
Am I folding it wrong somehow?

2 sets of hooks on base plate, so when you put locking pin in you can barely get to it to turn the key.
Do they make a different type of hitch lock?

It's been a tuff day today, forget the model but its the 20 lb aluminum one rated for 5,000lbs.

tks

To make it easier to disconnect the tow bar, be sure to drive straight ahead so the toad and coach are lined up before stopping to disconnect. That should eliminate your problem, push down on the levers then pull the pins. If you still have one that is tight, start the car and turn the wheel one direction or the other, that should relieve the binding. You should never have to use brute force.f
When hooking up do not extend the bar until it locks. Hook it up to the toad first, then notice which bar is the shortest. Turn the steering wheel a little (to the right if the left bar is short) then gently back up until the bars lock. You can drive forward as the company suggests and the bars should lock.

Thank you very much for the advice on turning the wheel to relieve the binding.

2 thumbs up for Blue Ox tech support line.!!
No waiting and you get a real person that speaks your language!
Dealership never called me back (after spending over $4,000 in their dealership)

I called Blue Ox this morning and the tech explained why the tow bar won't line up and lock. Real tight from factory and you have to work it back and forth and apply forward pressure for it to line up until it breaks in.

Now if any one has any suggestions for me on a different hitch lock that will fit between that double tow hook, Im good to go. tks. rock

A trick that always works for me is to wrap the locking handle with a small bungy cord to hold it down and then pull the tow vehicle forward slightly. I has worked everytime through 3 different hitches for me.

Or, its even easier to slip one loop of your safety cable (its already looped over the tow bar) over the handle.
