The Silver Lake Jellystone Park in Mears,MI is a wonderful place if you have kids. The campground itself is really nice and the surrounding area is awesome. You can climb the sand dunes and go on the Mac Woods Dune Rides. There is also miniature golf, bumper boats, go-karts and a video arcade right there. The campground has a nice pool, also. It is my family's favorite camping spot in Michigan.
A good place to find reviews on campgrouds anywhere is WWW.RVPARKREVIEWS.COM.
Good luck and HAPPY CAMPING!!!

Two of our favorits are in the UP. Munising tourist park and Bay Furnace campground in Christmas Mi. Munising is directly on the Munising bay and the view is what up north is all about!!! For close short weekend trips we like Holly State park. The winding roads make for nice private sites. Enjoy your summer....

I only mention these since they haven't been noted yet, but our favorite two spots are Wilderness State Park and Interlochen SP. A hidden gem is PH Hoeft SP.

We just got back from 10 days up in Mackinac with a couple days in the UP. I'm going to second munising tourist park - we went there last minute on our way up to take a boat tour of the pictured rocks. Even though we were in the 4th "row" away from the lake - we had a great view. Nice big fire rings (not like the dinky fire "pans" that they gave us at mackinaw mill creek) Next time we'll probably try out Wilderness State Park. The kids loved Mackinaw mill creek - we had a nice water/electric site that was pretty wooded/private. The full-hookup waterfront sites looked like a parking lot.

Eva and Ben all tightly packed into our
2005 Airstream Westfalia - yahooo!

Just got back from a week at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park. Great camping area and a lot to do, fishing, bicycling, beach, tubing down the Platte River, and climbing the Dunes.
Also stayed the night on the way at Little Bay de Noc Campground in Escananba. Another great campground at an affordable price, right on the Bay.
