Hi everyone,

Just purchased one of these on several recommendations from here. One question.... No where in the manual does it mention seasoning the grill. Is it necessary? If so, how is it done?

Thanks!

We have two Webber grills. Both are great. No need to season the grill.

I took a paper towel, lightly moistened with veggy oil and wiped around the inside of the top and grill surfaces. Just my personal preference.

My cast iron grate on the Q200 came already seasoned. The Q series are very high quality small grills

I always put some vegie oil on my grill. Stop things from sticking and makes clean up easy. Trick from Emeril.

Season it with a good steak.

Any cast iron grill or cookware should be seasoned. Take some crisco "lard" and rub it on the grill both sides then run it on high for about 30 minutes. After each time you cook on it scrub it with a metal BBQ brush and spray some cooking spray on it while it's hot. Close the lid and the as the grill cools the oil will be absorbed into the metal. Do this each time and you'll have years of good cooking with no rust or deterioration of the cast iron.
