CRANKY ????
WHO ME ????
I remember the good ole days when I used to be disguised as 'unclejay' and shot it out with msmith1999 and bagman and the other righties here.. those were the good ole days. eb belote was a profound source of everyday zen wisdom here.
Now its all blah.. oh yes and another Caterpillar vs. Cummins inquiry.

If I'm at home, I check this and another forum everyday. I have learned so much from lots of folks. The DW and I have been RVing for more than 20 years and still learn things each time I sign on. Not only do we all learn stuff, but we're entertained too!

No I haven't lost any portion of my RV addiction. In fact I'm so far gone that there's no 12-step program that can cure me. In fact I'm trying to figure out how I can buy a Newell. It's doable but a little too painful yet. But I'm working on it!
And yes I remember well the good old days when this forum was like the wild, wild west. There was a major sootout in here every day. Not only did I get a very good education here, but you old timers got me to unplug my satellite and start reading again. This forum had the very best entertainment.
The truth is I miss the way it used to be in here. Back then there needed to be a sign posted on the home page that read:"ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!"
So you changed your name "unclejay", I remember you, and Bagman, and when Sully2 was just Sully. He was just about the meanest gunslinger on the plains.
I remember those classic gasser versus diesel debates, and the new verses used debates. When I finally got enough nerve to finally walk through the swinging dorrs into this saloon, I was just about to purchase a New Discovery and not too much below retail price.
I was quickly grabbed by the throat and slapped around until a lot of sense was slapped into me. I learned about Fleetwood's maintenance record, and about getting at least 25% off invoice (ther real invoice not the dealer fabricated sheet), not to buy extended warranty, better to buy a used and debugged high end product than a new problem ladden low end product. But if I insisted on buying new, how to receive posession of the new rig out of state and save the sales taxes.
You can bet I was reading and kept re-reading until I got it. Thanks to all you seasoned veterans of the RV wars. I am now and will be forever indebted to you for my education. And this was after camping all my life. There was sooo much I didn't know then.

I am a "veteran" of five years with this Forum. When I started I learned that motorhome was indeed just ONE word! I have not slowed down a bit in reading the members comments. I also hover around the Tech Issues section. All of us have learned something here to be sure. For those just getting started, this Forum is a goldmine of information for you. Enjoy and learn!!! Jim.

I too started about 3 years ago and this site and another one I read have been very beneficial for me and my sanity when it comes to getting questions answered. My wife thinks I am crazy until I fix something that I read how to do on the forums.
I am also amazed at the number of RV'ers that had no idea this site existed. I plan on changing this, I have now printed up some business cards to hand to people after talking to them about this site so they will have something to remind them to visit these sites

My wife loves this forum, after all, when I'm giving someone on here hell I'm letting her rest!
However I am a little different than most on here, I already knew it all before I arrived!

I too am amazed at the amount of RV'rs that aren't aware of this forum. I've made several people aware of this site, but very few seem to follow through. I've also yet to meet anyone at campgrounds that participates in this forum.
I guess some people have a need to acquire knowledge with regard to the things that they get involved with. For others, acquiring knowledge is just too much work.

For seven years I have received invaluable advice and knowledge transfer from rvnet. I still visit almost every day but skip the usual question that have at least 5 replies. The answer to the question is almost always delivered in 5 replies.
Obviously, I just violated that observation with this reply.

I must ad that I too have learned much in the 5 yrs I've been reading and do remember many exchanges between some of the aforementioned members, some of which was very useful while some was outright hateful and rude. There are a couple that still practice here frequently. I am addicted and read the forum 2 times daily. Thanks to all for their vast contributions.
