My new Class C has come with a 19" LCD up front and my wife and I are already talking about adding a smaller LCD in the back by the bed.
My question is this - are there particular brands that hold up better for use in motorhomes? Didn't know if the excessive vibration and shaking from going down the road leads to problems with the flat panel TVs.
Thanks

Never heard of it but model number SC-1666D.If you put LCD TV and that number in search you can find it on line. Also has a built in DVD player that works great We leave it on the couch when on the road.

I have a 32 in Samsung and a 15 inch Polaroid, they both ride on the bed when going down the road, no problems after almost 2 years and 20,000 miles.

These are all solid state no moving part items and short of dropping them they ALL should be fine!! They made it thousands of miles jammed in the back of a tractor trailer (no gentile ride). Not to mention the dock handlers tossing them around ( I work in this area and watch it daily). Just secure any of them well enough that they wont move and hit something, and It will be fine..... Think about all the other electronic boards in your rv ... the television is no different Your worrying about something that's not a problem.( IMO

Think about this.. You have, perhaps. cups, saucers, glasses and plates in the Galley? (I do) How often to you have to sweep out debris?
(So far once and that was from the microwave where the idiot ex-friend of my wife put a cup with a gold leaf logo on it and picked it up by the logo thus burning her fingers and breaking my 12 dollar cup)
Nothin adds excitment like something that is none of your business

Our last MH had a Sony plasma TV. It went all over the country, up and down the Rockies, through the desert, etc. Never had a problem with it in over 3 years.

Our SONY 32" HD TV has now traveled to Alaska via the Cassiar, Top of the World, Alaska Hwy., and many more for a total of about 25,000 miles. I've never cushioned it in any way. It just rides in back and takes all the shocks that the roads give out. Never a problem of any kind.
(Not knowing the above....it's one of the few times I bought a full coverage extended warranty).

When we bought our 5'er the previous owner had removed the heavy TV's, so we bought 2 flat screens. The living room one was behind closed doors, but the space was deep. So I asked them to bolt it down, which they did by screwing it into place. When I went to pick it up, inside their RV store at the dealership were clamps for just that purpose - and not drilling! Somebody oughta edumacate their employees! Ck. with Camping World or other RVsites to see if you can find the clamped that hold down a television without drilling. The TV might be fine going down the road, but the noise would drive me nuts!

My opinion is that almost any LCD TV is going to be as road worthy as the next.
I would advise against Plasma TVs. I know, some folks have had plasma TVs that worked fine for many years in an RV, but, they are more fragile ( I did not say too fragile ), they are heavier, and in most cases, require more power than current genereation LCDs......
