Hello, I came across this site looking for new tires for our recent new addition to our stable.

First of all, my name is Kory and I have a beautiful wife and twin daughters. We’ve spent a lot of years camping, use to camp in the back of our Wagon, in tents, back of our truck, just about anything we had at the time. Whatever it took to get out of town and head for the mountains.

Well now that our daughters are almost 2 we decided it was time for a RV since tent camping with them is a little difficult, and we also have 3 large dogs.

A good friend of ours had a nice and clean 79 Coachmen and he was no longer using it so we made a deal. I traded my 1987 Mustang GT for this 1979 Ford Coachmen.

Everything works and runs really well. All I need to do is get some good tires on it and have the alignment done.
Well I just wanted to say Hi real quick and I look forward to the reading up on all the valuable information on this site.

Greetings Lee Family,

Congrats on your RV, it looks like you made a great find. From your pictures it looks like it is in great shape. You realize now that you have an RV you will probably never want to go tent camping again.

But, save your tent, because when the kids get in their teens, you may want to bring the tent for them to sleep in so mom and dad can have some time for themselves. This worked out well for us when our kids were in their teens.

We still have the tent so when our grandkids get to be that age they can use it. It also comes in handy in case the in-laws want to go camping with you :-)

Now, what our you waiting for, go camping and make some great family memories and happy RVing.

Welcome to the forum!

Nice clean MH you have, is that original miles or gone round once? From the shape I am thinking it has very low milage.

Check all rubber. We bought a 82 MH and it had just over 60000 miles but most of the rubber was getting old and over the past couple years have changed almost all the rubber hoses as well as some plastic y's in the heater hoses that were brittle. I also had all the front end bushings changed and that made a huge difference in handling.

Enjoy your new toy

Thanks everyone, we've been taking the twins camping since they were 7 months old. The last trip we did earlier this year we rented a popup and pulled it with our Titan. That pretty much solitified it for me. We must get a camper trailer of RV.

And yes, that is the original mileage. It even came with all the original paperwork, reciepts for repairs. The floors and interior were replaced about 4 years ago. The front seat were replaced with Ford Windstar powerseats.

The CB radio works and it has a brand new sound system in it with a remote.

There is a TV that was installed in the cabinets above the kitchen, it slides out.

Pretty much everything on it has been updated expect the tires. I do need some larger side mirrors. The current ones are not big enough and have a haze to them so the view is a little blurry.

We are pretty happy with it. I couldn't have asked for a better used/old RV for our first one.

First thing that jumped out at me (mind you I'm a grandmother of four little ones), the bolts under the chairs. I'd try to find some way to make them more toddler friendly. I can just see someone getting hurt on those. WELCOME to the forum!
