I was camping a few weeks ago at Cherrystone in Va. I was flushing my black tank with a Hydroflush unit. A seasonal camper stopped by and told me that those types of flushers are illegal in Va. as well as the ones permanently installed in the camper. He also had one and was told by the management not to use it. He stopped for a while but then used again and he was threatened to be banned from the campground. Are they really illegal or was the campground trying to save water? And yes they have backflow preventers installed. Thanks.

That's the first time I've heard anything about a "back-flush" device being illegal. I checked with DW's parents, who are full-timers, and they've never heard of it either.

I wonder if this is something new that has just started? It'll be intereting to see the replies to the OP.

I heard this too of a campground in MA but I looked at their rules and saw nothing stating it. I jusst bought one too and it worked great for me.

I have not heard anything about back flush devices being "illegal" in VA or anywhere else for that matter. Cherrystone CG is in a rural area and probably operate on a well and my guess is that its a CG rule to conserve water. Also, I have not seen any thing about back flush devices in any of the CG rules that we have stayed in. VA IS very specific about not dumping grey water on the ground.

I agree. Higher water use would bother any CG considering how much some of us use when we flush. Also consider that some CG's are not on public sewer but have septic tank capacity to think of.

Wife and I are rule followers.
We have a black tank flush (Quickie Flush). It is installed as standard equip. in ALL Komfort trailers.
I'm not going to lose any sleep over this one.

Illegal? I doubt any city ordinance would address a tank flush issue. I rather suspect it is just another weird campground rule. So if they have a problem with it, just fill your black tank 3-5 times. What's the difference. Sounds like a silly rule to me.

Ask for the code section number. Otherwise flush away.
Now if it is just a camp rule then so be it. Comply or leave.
