I'm prewired for one and would want to be able to run it with my Honda 2000 if need be. There is a "high efficiency Brisk Air" at Camping World. Is the installation pretty straight forward?

I would look at the Polar Cub it will run off the Honda 2000 real easy. And yes it is straight forward the hardest part is getting the unit on top of the camper a couple of buddy's can help with that. Good luck.

Xnorp is right, the Coleman Polar Cub is a good match for the Honda 2000. I have that combination and it works fine. One tip someone gave me was to take your camper off the truck and lower it as far as is possible, load the Polar Cub into the bed of the truck and two people should be able to place it on the roof without ladders or anything. One more tip, they provide a double side foam strip to go between the A/C and the roof, be careful when you place the A/C it is real sticky and kind of where you put it the first time is where it will stay. My compressor was off the mounting posts when I got it and had to reposition it before putting it on the roof. Coleman tech support was very helpful, but you want to check that before installing.
Good luck

The problem I ran into when I installed my roof air was that the wire supplied wasn't long enough and I had to add about 6" of copper to make it happen. Then, the foam insulation had to be drilled out between the electric box and the hole for the AC unit to accomodate the new wiring - about 6". Other than that, it's a piece of gravy (if you've ever had my wife's cooking).

P.S. I plan on swapping my 11,500 btu Carrier unit for a Polar Cub when I get a chance. That will give me an excuse for buying a Honda EU2000!

Had the Polar Cub (ordered the 8300 btu but came in as 9000 btu)installed at camping world for $88. Amperage rating is the same (8.0) but my Honda 2000 will not run it. Tried with the converter circuit breaker off but it still would not run it. That generator did run the 7000 btu unit I had in my last camper. Any ideas?

Have you tried the AC at its lowest setting and turned "on" before you start the gen? I could run the unit I had on my last Lance this way. I don't remember the size but I expect it was a 13000 BTU model.

Are you running the generator in Econo Mode?

Are you sure there is nothing else on in the camper? Electric water heater?

Our Honda 2000 will run our 11,500 Btu/hr a/c.

Plug the camper into shore power and check the total amp draw with a clamp-on amp meter.
