Outbound, thanks for the info. It just goes to show us as consumers in this country & this day & age that corporate Amer. doesn't care about us as consumers. It's all about greed & CEO's padding their own pockets. Look at the tires now made in China. Ha! Ha! Where's it going to end?

The one thing that bothers me is that they overstate the problem handling the vehicle when a tire blows. I just had the entire tread separate from the tire on Monday while driving my Jeep Grand Cherokee. I never left my lane, no violent serving, etc.

You can take a new tire, and run it underinflated, until it fails the very same way. Therefore, not ALL doubts have been cleared up. Besides, I do NOT believe that you automatically lose control just because you experience a blowout.
Here's what's clear, if I could afford it I would replace the whole vehicle every couple of years. It's also clear that thar's a whole lotta people who canNOT afford all the insurance they want.
