I don't think switching from an ST tire is the answer. ST is the proper application.
The maxxis load E in the same size seem to be the solution.

Maxxis trailer tires are made in China. I would avoid them.

Problem is Cooper don't make them anymore; I was looking for some last year.
I found some Coopers here in Rapid City, SD; they still make them. They are pricey, however.

Won't do the Goodyear ST again. Trying Denman E rated now.
I really think it's a shot in the dark. I had two Denman E rated blow on me, two trips in a row (two weeks apart). Yet the Carlise & Marathons (LRD, which were right next to the Denmans & older) were fine.
Thankfully the Denmans failed without the tread coming off, maybe because of the nylon cap. Good thing, made it far less messy and no damage to the trailer.

The Maxxis' I bought today were made on Thailand. From what I've read Thialand is alot better than China as far as tires go.

Our current 5er came with Goodyear ST205/75R 15 D-rated tires. The first one blew to pieces the first week we had it. Then I noticed that the camper called for ST225/75Rs. Trailer damage was minimal, so I took a $25 each trade-in allowance on the remaining 4 tires and replaced them with ST225/75R 15 10-ply E-rated Segura tires. That was 2 years ago and we haven't had further problems, but we haven't pulled it too much either -- probably 5-8,000 miles.

Cooper stopped USA production of their ST tires in '05 according to the Cooper dealer here in town. There all foreign made now.
