Are you allowed to take a knife in the TC on the ferry to Victoria from Washington?

If it is a weapon - no, if it is a kitchen utensil - yes. but I am guessing 'cause in at least 50 crossings I have never been asked about knives - only firearams and other weapons - mace etc.

The crossing at Ogdensburg NY has a nice collection of knives they have seized.
Kitchen and normal hunting knives don't seem to be a problem.... daggers, switch blades, butterfly, push knives and swords do.......

Guess I'll have to leave my butterfly steak knives at home when I go to Canada later this summer.

Yes, along with paved roads, daily newspapers, indoor plumbing and telephones, we also have knives up here. BTW, we also have grocery stores.

Can't imagine you'd need very big knives for butterfly steaks anyway.

You'll be ok with them. They are plastic, aren't they?

We don't use knives up here, we just grunt, tug at our food and eat with our fingers; a little tricky grilling, but we get used to it.

The only time I have ever been asked if I had knives in the 5th wheel was last spring by the US customs officer at North Portal as I was headed south for the winter. I was somewhat surprised.
