Friday night we plan on watching the Fireworks that Clear Creek Marina will have (small but nice).
BTW- we also live in Chelsea......
Greetings Neighbor.
We live in "South" Chelsea off CO 55. We used to be in Westover until we got annexed into Chelsea a while back. More people heard of Chelsea than Westover anyhow. My how this place has grown the past 10 years.
I've not camped at Lakeside before. If it's the one I'm thinking about, it is just south of Pell City/Cropwell on US 231 where the storage sheds and strip mail is. Hope you have a great time. Maybe we'll camp together some day.
Till then, I hope you have great camping, a happy 4th and safe travel always.

Every time I read a post with this remark it just makes me laugh! i have been out for alot of holidays along with regular 1 and 2 week trips and have yet to see a difference!
There is a huge difference here in the South. NC and SC are both very popular states. The traffic + hordes of folks at campgrounds does not equal a pleasant holiday experience for us. We will travel AFTER the holidays. That is the advantage of retirement!

Glad to see I wasnt the only one....
Guess you guys don't notice the huge crowds of drunks that are just out to party because hey, it's the holiday! and playing loud music until 2 am along with people that don't control their kids (more then normal) because it's the only weekend they camp a year and they don't know any better. I could go on and on.
No thanks, I'll enjoy the holiday at home having a BBQ with friends and then go camping the following weekend where the parks aren't nearly as full and the chances of having the twice a year campers who don't care next to me is much lower. Holidays are just no fun camping.

We'll be at Fort DeSoto for the weekend - and to think I actually managed to get a waterfront site at the last minute due to a cancellation!

We are at our houseboat at South Holston Lake in Bristol, TN this weekend. Not RVing it this weekend. Loving the portable ice maker that we finally bought and had pondered for quiet some time now. It works great...even at the lake! Have a great 4th!

What does the drunks and the music have to do with you? Do your thing. Stay at home. Since it is a busy weekend, a lot of folks need your thinking, and there would be more sites open for people that want to enjoy a "holiday weekend."
