We have the Barker 4 wheel 25 gallon blue tote and absolutely love it...except how darn loud it is towing it to the dump station and back. If you were at Hoffmaster State Park (MI) this past weekend or within 100 miles, you probably heard it clanging behind me. I'm definitely not complaining, but the roads aren't exactly smooth so I'm sure that doesn't help.

So anyhow, does everyone that has one of these get the whole campground giving you the "what the heck is that noise" look? If anyone has ideas or hints I'd love to hear them before I get a mob chasing after me with pitchforks and torches the next time I use it.

I've read in the past where some have swapped out the hard rubber tires for pneumatic tires and have had great results from that. Try doing a search on here for it.

Rollingcondo is right, the only way to quiet those rascals down is to invest in tires that won't transmit the noise to the tank. If there is a Harbor Freight nearby, they usually have sales on those kind of tires.

I live about 75 miles from Hoffmaster and I wondered what that noise was. When the tank is empty, i pull it on the side of the road, not on the pavement.

Is that what that noise is mister_d? I can hear it here in Westland! You must be dragging it around right now!

You must be a very sensitive person to worry about how much noise the blue tote makes. How fast are you going?
Look straight ahead and stop worrying.

Mine is much quieter when full, so after dumping, I put the tote on the tail gate of the truck as it makes too much noise towing empty. I have seen a few folks who've swaped out their plastic wheels for real tires and they are much quieter.

I hate the noise they make. I would rather start up the motorhome and go to the station than call "THAT MUCH" attention to the matter. Fast/slow, doesn't matter. The "as shipped" wheels are simply a poor choice.

To me it's one of necessary things that I don't need to scream for attention. I could care less what anyone else thinks, take GLADE air fresheners. Don't use them either. Sounds like an air starter for a jet engine when pressed. I use a MUCH quieter product.

Now, THIS is important RV stuff!

I agree use the pneumatic tires, one of the best mods I have done and you can go much faster too.
