We do it all the time. I get a room for my elderly mother, then tell the clerk we have a small RV and ask where we should park it. Usually end up out back near the king cab pickups and such. Never had a problem or complaint from any motel.

You probably have the idea by now; most motels are fine with you sleeping in a van if you rent a room.
Last Fall My elderly mother (84) met us Mid-Trip in LA to drive with us to Seattle in our Sprinter LTV.
Mostly we stayed with relatives or friends but several times it was a motel.
I always told them the room was for my mother and we would be staying just outside in our Camper. BTW, I would call it a "camper" and if it's a Sprinter I would refer to it as "our Mercedes Camper". Motor-home sounds too big (like a monster Class A) and "van" sounds too much like Hippies (which of course we are, but much up-scale from the old days in our VW microbus).
Thanks so much for the replies. Sounds like it won't be a problem to sleep in Ms"B"Haven and my brother in the motel. Hopefully he will enjoy traveling in a B and will meet up with me at the Utah rally, too.
Anne, Ms"B"Haven can't "flip her lid" like you guys can! LOL
Margie I wish I had thought of this solution to a bad hotel bed last year. When in Albuquerque for the balloon fest we had stayed in a hotel for the 2 nights there. The bed was so bad...wish we had slept in the B and used the
hotel room for our showers, etc.
