I try to keep DD quiet during posted quiet hours, after that, I enforce respectful noise. I consider noise respectful when it's at a level that I would tolerate if I were camping next door. Now, if only we could convince others to use respectful levels at night (we are early to bed, early to rise people).

''wake up time'' is as early as they like BUT they will obey the quiet rules!some folks get confused between a curfew and quiet time, you can stay out all nite and up with the roosters just act like your in a library or a church during quiet times.

We camped at the beach this weekend. Sat night some people decided to park right next to us. The only space between our bed and them was my cousin's truck. They talked and told jokes all night long! When we finally got up the sun was well over the horizon, around 7:30a, soon after that was when they decided to leave! Needless to say we had no sleep and we had to drive back home that day, Sunday.

Now that, is rude! My kids going outside and playing at 7:30a, is a normal part of life and society. It is normal to think people will be awake when the sun is up - when camping anyway. If we decided to stay up all night, by our own choice, and then we want to sleep in until 11a, or later, that's our problem. Why should the normal people have to keep quiet for us. But at night when people are supposed to be asleep and you keep them up, then you are a problem.

I've got 2 kids, almost grownup. They're 17 & 19. I love kids. The delightful laughter of well adjusted, well disciplined kids is music at almost anytime. HOWEVER, there is a rapidly growing percentage of kids in today's society who DO NOT fit the above description. I chalk it up to inconsiderate brats raising inconsiderate brats of their own. Lack of consideration for others is something I have little tolerance for and I have always gone WAY out of my way to make sure that my kids (or I) didn't bother anybody else.

I've got a message for parents with children. If the shoe doesn't fit, then don't wear it. I'm not talking to you. No matter how sweet you think your "angel" is, chances are that others don't think so and DON'T WANT TO BE BOTHERED WITH THEIR OVERLY LOUD OR RUDE BEHAVIOR. If your kids are early risers, just use a little judgement. They may be "there to have fun", but that doesn't mean they should be allowed to run wild and disturb others even if "the official posted quiet time" is over.

A little more on topic and as an example, if at say 7:00AM I hear kids riding their bikes, walking the CG, or playing in a REASONABLE manner, I won't be bothered in the least. Reasonable judgement. That's all. Along with not assuming that if your kids disturb others, it's automatically "their problem".

We let the kids stay up later while camping so they usually don't get up until 8:00/8:30. By the time they have breakfast, get dressed and out of the door there are no worries about quiet morning hours, lol !!

If I read you right.....their behavior sounded quite normal. The world revolves around all people. BTW Kids playing at 0730 is only normal society for those with kids!

I think we've seen the gamut of opinions, and will consider the subject closed.
