It also sounds like he may not have had enough trailer braking from poor set up or
set to low on the controller.I know that stretch of 77 and don`t have nearly that much trailer with a E350 and descend it with caution.Higher trailer brake settings
and lower gear. And you can get a lot of cross wind along there.I would still like to know how much he had towed.
What ever it is still so very sad to read such things about a other wise happy family going to the beach.

I also know this stretch of I77 and with the downward grade & heavy load, all it takes is a little lost attention to speed and before you know it you can be out of control.

My heart goes out to the surviving children and family members.

according to the article, the TT started to sway on them, could it be his TT brakes didn't work or not hooked up?

Great advice. But where can the proper info concerning length of tow vehicle be found?

Also with bikes and other stuff was he tail heavy? It would not take a lot with that long of trailer if loaded in the rear of it.

If that is true most people are towing out side the box.

I've never done it

I guess that having a King cab long bed as my last truck and a crew cab long bed as my current truck sure helps.

This is why matching the tow vehicle to the trailer to be towed is of utmost importance...two small children will now suffer the consequences for the rest of their lives...how horribly sad!
