Just came back from a trip LA to Sequoia. On Hwy 5 at Lebec, I stopped for gas at the FlyingJ. When I got to the pump, I found their 87 octane was $4.32 per gallon. Everywhere from Fresno down to LA was $4.59+. Even across the street was 28 cents higher. What's the story, is their gas same as everyone elses? Filling the MH there saved me $10.

We consistently try to fuel at Flying J's. Although they can occasionally be beaten, they are generally at or below all competitors. In addition, you can check prices at each station on the WEB, so at least if you see a bargain you can take advantage of it. Finally, you know the fuel will be fresh, and not sitting in a tank for weeks or months. In a pinch, they're good for an overnight stay if nothing better is around.

Flying J at exit 100 I-95 North East, MD is always a few cents less than the other stations in the area. Normally stop at FJ's on the way south. Several along I-95.

I was wondering if they are like Arco and don't have the cleaning additives like Chevron? This wasn't just a few cents cheaper, over a quarter.

I work beside a FJ. Have used both their gas and diesel in my personal vehicles for years. The company I work for also uses their fuels. Never a problem.

Around here, so does Chevron, Shell and Valero. They're not cheap.

Go here to check on all Flying J Prices.Flying J
And here in Stockton, I see Flying J trucks filling at the same fuel rack near the port of Stockton as many other brands of tankers. Don't know if the additives are added after they fill, but that is probably what happens.

My BIL drives a tank truck and when they fill they enter the code for the brand that they are hauling that day and the dispenser adds the additive for that brand.

What's the story.. Is their gas the same as everyone Else?

Gas. yes, seems to be, unless you are in CA then.. Well.. it's still the same as everyone else in CA (not as good as it is in AZ for example, but costs more)

Flying J has some very good "leverage" when it comes to getting good deals it appears.. They are fairly often the low price leader.. For one thing where as a "local" station may buy a few hundred gallons at a time.. J's may but a few Thousand.

That makes a much bigger difference.

But I often find "J"s are teh best price (Not always but often)

Also, do pick up the RV-Fueler card if you don't already have one.. Just ask at the fuel desk for an application.
