There's a lot of "shootin from the hip" going on here but Crappie_Fishermna is calling it correctly... The "sticky" in question is a very through adjustment procedure of a w/d hitch... Until this is done, you judt don't know where your at... Once you get the hitch adjusted properly, haul the rig over to the scales and see what your weights are - make sure your within GVWR and GCWR of your truck... Is your truck suspension up to specs??? - ball joints and tires all OK??? There are a ton of things that can cause sway from one truck to antother - you must start at the beginning in a methodical and orderly elimination of possible causes one step at a time... Hitch adjustment is your first step - report back after you have siccessfully completed the PROPER hitch adjustment...

The tank should be right below the tank fill.

Water weighs a lot and can make quite a difference in some rigs. Have you tried towing with and without water with the truck that demonstrates the sway?

Scott - with all do respect, all this bantering back and forth doesn't mean much or solve your problem unless you weigh the rig and find out EXACTLY where your at in terms of overall weight, tongue weight, hitch adjustment, etc...
Ans yes - taken to an extreme, too much tongue weight can also cause sway and towing instability...
Give us some weights and verify your hitch adjustment otherwise all the questions and possibilities are meaningless...

I myself have been were you are long story short new 2008 cougar 300srx 35 footer used my old tow hitch from old truck dealer said it will work fine....
right...... my 2005 dodge 2500 4door shortbed cummins sat taller so the rear of the trailer was sittin low did a little 50 mile short camping trip scared the******out of me .... trailer was all over the place truck felt like it was loose in the rear and corners was even worse ........
i could see the rear of the trailer swaying side to side. I was so glad to get there and all i could think of was the ride back home. I moved things inside the trailer and played with the weight bars sway and nothing worked...
So i tossed the hitch and got a 8 inch drop from the dealer that told me the other one would work and let them know i was pissed off about the bad info and how they could even say that would work. I did put air bags on to stay off the over loads and get a nice ride and a new set of shocks.... I just did a 600 mile trip over the hills and corners 60 to 65 highway and wow no sway trailer pulls like a dream not scared ..... and the drive was so nice I made sure the trailer was level loaded it lifted the bags so there was a slight dip on the hitch and bam..................love it. GOOD LUCK

It sure makes sense to me, that whenever you change tow vehicles, it would be important to recheck all of the weight distribution factors.
One thing I feel very strongly about. These anti-sway friction bars lead folks into a false sense of security when used on trailer over 23'. I think these types of anti-sway bars should be limited to a length of 20' or less. I have actually seen cases where these bars were literally destroyed or torn from the frame of the trailer by severe sway.
These devices would never be approved for commercial use and in my mind are very dangerous and lead to many accidents when used on longer TTs.
I think what is going to happen here is that the dealers, in their haste to sell "anything" and get you off the lot as quickly as possible, are going to lead to federal laws about what you tow and how you tow it.
