Where do you look to find information on campgrounds near (not exactly in) a specific city or town? We want to visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. We'll be traveling in a Class C with a dinghy that has our sea kayaks on the roof (for other stops on this trip). I don't want to drive either the whole rig or the dingy and kayaks into Cleveland, so we'd like to find a nearby campground that offers either a shuttle into town, or a connection with some public transporation that can take us into town, while we leave our vehicles parked at the campground.
I've checked the TL RV Road Atlas, the TL Directory and Good Sam web site. The two TL resources show no campgrounds particularly close, but a dozen or so a reasonable drive away. Do I now have to phone each one of them to ask about the transportation? The Good Sam site appears to have not heard of Cleveland. The map returns just blue - apparently Lake Erie - no land features. Checking the same feature for Canton the map shows the NFL Hall of Fame. Great, but I can't camp there. What am I doing wrong, that keeps me from finding nearby campgrounds?

Check RV Park Reviews. You should be able to find a lot of good information there. Have a great time on your trip!

I just Google "Campgrounds Near ______" and a list usually appears.
Yes, you do need to contact each individual campground to find out the ammenities, such as transportation, that are available.
HERE ya' go. Just scroll down the page.

CALL the Hall of Fame and ask.
Use rvparkreviews.com for that city.
Use Woodalls or Trailer Life camping books.
And, as you have done, ask on this site.
Also, you can try typing in 'camping (city)'
and see what comes up

I am amazed at how few people "Google"
Three quarter of the questions asked can be answered in a couple of miutes with Google.
I bet I dont type in a URL twice a year.

Just from looking at rvparkreviews.com here is one that claims to be the closest to downtown Cleveland. Nothing about transportation, but having been to the RRHOF I don't expect you're going to find such a thing in a nearby campground.

You can try RV Park Finder and that will show you campgrounds on a map around the area you want to visit.
At the moment the actual details in the database are probably very sketchy - just a phone number and address. If you find a good one then you can update it on the side, add a photo or 2 and improve it for the next person to take a look. No advertising on there either.

You've already discovered the campgrounds that are a reasonable drive away from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame...that's all there is. I seriously doubt that any of the campgrounds will offer a shuttle to public transportation. That's why you have a dingy in tow.
