If you are in the Salmon River country, I would recommend the Royal Gorge Resort--right on the River, small, quiet, shade, playground for children, and a natural hot pool just up river from the campground. Really nice folks that own it, brought us some fresh lettuce from their garden last year.
Plenty of campgrounds, private and public in that area.
Thanks everyone, this is exactly the information I am looking for. Getting personal experience from folks that have been to these places is much better than trying to figure out what would work for us using ads or web sites (when available).
