Some of you might remember that when we moved back in February we brought the formerly feral outside cat with us. It has been a rather long and at times volatile adjustment for our established cats... as well as quite a difference in lifestyle for our formerly wild girl, and believe me she was a wild one.

I just had to take pictures tonight to show how far two of them have come in their new cat pack.

That is Goldie (named for her eyes) closest to the camera, she used to be our very wild child. The other girl is Blanca (named because she isn't white ) who is a real sweetheart but has not always been to Goldie.

Yes...... it's been a long journey but I do believe they have finally become friends.

No. Not without a lot of posturing and hissing. LOL This was the quietest close encounter yet. As a matter of fact, they stayed like that for almost an hour. AMAZING!!

It's great to hear that you took the stray you were caring for with you. We have 4 rescues and they don't always see eye to eye with each other. Sometimes it can be hard as you know. But knowing you saved that cat and gave her a home makes it all worth while. I'm sure she is very grateful for all you have done for her.
God bless.

Cats are not grateful for what you do for them, just annoyed at you when you do not do something for them.

All three of our current cats are off the street rescues, it's been a long time since I brought one home from the shelter.

Believe it or not Wayne they are great companions. There is just something wonderful about relaxing with a cat purring on your lap. In those moments there is plenty of gratitude for their life of luxury.

Gee Wayne it's a shame you think that way. Our cats are very grateful. Especially Bubba. He came from a prison and is visually impaired some what. He lets us KNOW every day how much he loves us and loves having a home and other cat friends.

I have to agree with Wayne on this one. Our Sassy owns our house, she is just kind enough to let us live here.

Cats are grateful but the communication process is different from a dog; such as learning another language to communicate. Once you do, their friendship and love are daily joys!
Had cats all my life, one that I will never forget, a mixture of communication with him; human, dog and cat into one tabi.

I am happy for you CatandJim for the great progress Blanca and Goldie did. I brought in our house to my dear old Miko (14 years old), the two cats I inherited, when my mom passed away. They were two years old. After a little over a month, the three of them were on the same couch. I had to take the camera out and capture this moment.

Hope you will have more special moments to capture, some sleeping side by side, one day!

Thanks y'all, they are doing a little better every day. They have both taken to sleeping with us... just on opposite sides of the bed. One day we might find them curled up together, but if not at least they don't hiss & yowl when they pass one another anymore.

I'll celebrate the small victories like being mellow on the same chair, what an improvement!
