5K is alot of money. IF you are good with the used, and you do a real complete look over, it may be the way to go. Really look carefully for damage from water and ck the operation of all items, apppliances , bunk ends, tires, slide and so on.
If your wife really likes the new interior, might be better off with that. We looked at lots of used ones and saw condition and price all over the place. Bottom line is, you two have to be happy with the unit. A few camping trips down the road, the 5K difference will not matter as much as you both being sold that this was the camper for you.
We finally found the unit that had all we wanted, after we stopped looking and had given up! Ended up with a 2007 that had some of the 2008 items, so it is a morph that still smelled new and looked like it had never been used.
Good luck, and hope you love your 23B as much as we do!

2007 Jayco 23B
2000 E150 Ford Club Wagon 5.4 w/ tow pkg
Equalizer hitch, Kelsy brake controller
1997 Coleman Sunridge- Served us well for 11 years!
Other differences on 2008 from the 2003 include:
6" wider trailer
Larger rear bed (queen)
Seperate shower faucet
Bunk end latches much improved
These are all items that were important to us.

Where in Michigan? Only asking because I might have an option for you. As far as new - vs - old, 5K is ALOT of gas and camping reservations. Put it this way, you haven't camped in an HTT, if you don't care for it, you have 5K less invested, therefore, have that much LESS to lose if you decide to change units. I enjoy our HTT a lot. We only camp in Michigan and it seems to do a great job. I do see myself getting a travel trailer in the years to come to eliminate noise and some extra set-up. As the years keep creeping up on me, the conveniences are becoming more important.
Love the Jayco. We've had three trailers and now a Motorhome. Jayco's are well constructed in and out. We always purchase new, as previously said, you never know how someone has maintained it. If you really hate the interior color on the used, you will be sorry that you purchased it. Just remember you'll be living in it while your traveling. Can you really look at those colors all the time????
My vote is NEW!!!!!!
Have a Great Day!!!!

Our 2 cats (Jessi & Buffy)
2000 Jayco Designer Class C 32ft.
2007 Saturn Vue,
The DW and I went back and looked at the used trailer again, we looked for almost two hours, on top, under, inside all cabinets, under everything... This thing is spotless.
Bottom line we talked him down some more on the price, he threw in a few more camping essentials and we left a deposit.. We never hated the interior just like some of the new features in the 08'.. but like others have mentioned for 5K we can do a lot to the interior, pay for a lot of gas, camping reservations any repairs etc. etc..
We also sold our PUP today, second day out never advertised..
Now let the mods begin!!!!
Thanks again for all your feedback. I am sure we will be very happy..
