I started with the DeLorme, went to S&T, just bought the 2008 version (less than $30 for the software only at Costco). Use it with my older receiver, it also works with DeLorme's receiver.
I run both S&T and VMSpc at the same time on the same screen.

We use Delorme 2007 for running down the road, but find the trip planning functions useless. For that we use S&T. We've downloaded the Wallyworld locations for S&T from the Fleetwood owners site, so that sometimes we need to fire it up to locate one while on the road. It would be nice to have those in the Delorme.

I'm using S&T 2008 and Street Atlas 2009+. Just like you I use S&T for planning our trips. Searching and modifying a route is so much easier with S&T. But I still find the new 'navigation' feature of S&T lacking compared to Street Atlas. Street Atlas 2009 now offers a 3D NavMode similar to S&T, with a much better interface than S&T. Street Atlas has a 'Forward Looking Radar' mode while navigating that works pretty well when you are looking for things like rest stops, Wally and such.
I tried Co-Pilot 10 and found it to be extremely buggy, the user interface is horrible and very cumbersome to use and importing POIs was just crazy. I don't understand why you have to use a Wizard when trying to locate anything and to top that off you have to have you route already planned and your GPS up and running to even search!
'Help' files did not work without downloading the 'Help engine' used for Windows prior to Vista. I called their phone support before buying Version 10 and they assured me Version 10 was fully compatible with Vista. When I did get 'Help' working it often provided wrong information'. It does have a 'RV' option for planning route to help avoid height restrictions, but you can get POIs that have the same info for S&T or Street Atlas. Co-Pilot phone support is useless.
Co-Pilot might have been a good product 5 or 6 years ago, but is has not kept up with S&T or Street Atlas. Since becoming a member of this board 5 years ago I have noticed that Co-Pilot is not recommend like it used to be.
I use all kinds of things depending on what the need is. DeLorme SA2009 with LT-40 in the MH while moving, Topo7 to check the route for grades and to look at the land we're moving through. I have both a Lowrance iWay 250c and and DeLorme PN-20 for the towed. For use in towns the Lowrance is great and for back country nothing I've seen beats the PN-20 with XMAP.
I love having a 24" LCD wide-screen for GPS in the MH, makes the trip way more fun.

DeLorme is definitely our choice for the RV. It calculates end of day and fuel stop needs. I'll check the route for low clearance problems against the Trucker's Atlas before I leave. I will also tag rest stops in case we need to walk the dog or want a quick stop to prepare lunch.
Our Garmin nuvi is good for the toad when all we want to do is jump in the car and go somewhere. I don't care for it for directing the RV. Occasionally it wants you to exit the interstate and then get back on at the end of the exit... strange!

Is that strange or is the machine trying to tell you to by-pass a lower overpass? We have seen several places in our travels where the Interstate Signage directs vehicles over XX Height, By-pass Ahead, and one simply drives UP the Exit and back DOWN the Entrance to by-pass a lower over pass!
Some times these machines know more than we do!

We have also been using Delorme for many years and my main complaint was that most of the screen was employed for unusable features by the person driving. SA 2009 is a big improvement in that area and I now have a 17" display mounted behind the glass cabinet door above the drivers seat. Had to change the smoked glass to clear polycarbonate but otherwise with a hinged mount the cabinet storage is still usable. My wife can even read the display from many feet away.

Been using the Garmin 7200 for about a year and so far I'm pleased with the operation. It has all the features we like plus the convenience of a remote when the unit is on the MH dash. I feel it's well worth the price ... so far.

It does it even on the "car" setting. It definitely is not a low overpass situation.
Good thought, and thanks, but that has not been our experience.

This problem, which I have also had, plus some others is why I prefer my Lowrance iWay500c over my Garmin. There are map problems across product lines, but this problem and some others are software problems associated with the brand. At some point, the Garmin will be replaced with another Lowrance. I, personally, don't like to deal with a laptop while driving and want the screen just ahead and to the right of my position as driver so that I can glance at it without physically moving my head. For me, the 5-7inch screen is just right.
