I noticed with our new Discovery Motor Home there are a lot of various fittings that came with the sewer drain hose. Some are self explanatory while others are not. My question is as follows:
Do all Campgrounds with hook ups and/or dump stations have the same connection on their end (the ground end where we connect to) or do they vary from place to place?

A lot of campgrounds have gone to PVC (white plastic) sewer connections which, I think, are 4 inch diameter.
If you get ahold of a Camping World catalog you will see all of the fittings they have for sale to give you an idea how to use each one.
Hopefully, they also included a rubber `donut' to seal the connection at the campgrounds sewer pipe.

As long as you have the cone shaped adaptor with different threaded steps to it and a rubber doghnut you should be set for all cg's.

I've been curious about those "threaded steps"....if the hole in the ground isnt threaded...why bother with threads???

I have a variety of fittings for my sewer hose, and several hoses. I particularly like my 'complete' hose with it's fittings, and when at a campground with an unthreaded sewer inlet, I can still use this hose/fitting, but secure it with a rock so it doesn't pop out of the sewer inlet when I open the valves.

Most CG's have gone to the threaded pipes. But they work on non threaded pipes just as well.
Trust me just sticking the threaded cap into one of these non threaded sewer hole pipes DOES make a difference in keeping the sewer gas from spreading all over like it would if you just stuck the sewer hose in it.
The State Fair Grounds in Florida does not require a fitted cap on sewer hoses you just stuck the sewer hose in the pipe and boy did it stink in the CG area, you could hardly breath.

Thanks for the help. I guess they gave me everything but that DONUT. I will upgrade and get it set up properly now based on the info you all gave me here....Thanks.

The short answer to your question is NO
Some have threaded fittins... Different sizes, too
Some just have "Push in"
Some .. Well, let's just say there are many options

If it isn't threaded that is what the Doughnut is for!!! Either that or stick it in the pipe and put one of those straps over it, or put a rock on it. I would rather seal it as tight as possible for my sake and the sake of my neighbors. Wish everyone was as considerate!!
