They are most likely going to use an ozonator to remove the smell. On most coaches it will work but we have some that were owned by smokers or pet owners and the smell is hard to remove. Usually we have to send the cloth to a dry cleaners, clean the carpet, etc. I would have it written into the contract that you do not pay if the smell cannot be removed.

Depends. If it is cat urine in the carpet/upholstery, ain't gonna happen. If it dog urine, they might have some success but perhaps not total. If it is just the general "doggy" odor, a good cleaning service who specializes in that sort of thing can make it disappear.

I have seen/smelled RVs in the past that had been 'deodorized'. Never could figure out why I could smell them still.
There are an awful lot of RVs out there today and some very good prices (with the economy like it is) - I might continue to look for a while longer unless this was a give-away price.

If the dealer says he can get the smell out it makes me wonder why he didn't get it out before offering it for sale????

Tell them to get it out and you will buy then. Let them do it and then tell them you will be down next week to see if it is still out. Go from there.

Excellent point - and have it still be out a month later.

We have a cat and two dogs. We ended up taking the carpet out and putting down laminate flooring.
We don't have much trouble controlling the pet odor as far as the upholstery goes but the carpet was another matter.
