We actually just ran into a 50 amp only site. We kinda. We were at the Estes Park KOA outside the Rocky Mountain National Park and the post we were told to hook into had a 50, 40 and 20 amp service. The kicker was that the site next to us was using the 30 amp outlet so we had to use the 50...with an adapter. The sites were really tight and my guess is this is how they created 2 sites where there used to be only one....
When we stayed at Big Bear RV park in Wasilla, we pulled in and the 30 amp outlet was loose, so we told the front office that we would be using the 50 amp service but only drawing 30 amps. It worked fine and we only paid as if we used the 30 amp.
It is always a good idea to carry adapters - we can use 50 amp, 30 amp or even 15 amp. Now if you dropp down in service, you won't be able to run as many things at one time, but you can live without the AC going, making toast, watching TV, and popping popcorn all at the same time!

We have found a few, not many, 50-amp only sites. Bought a dogbone adapter a while back "just in case." At our favorite Vancouver Island RV park, Salmon Point, there are 50-amp only and combination 30/50amp sites.
