Before I saw this video I thought that tires become hazardous after 6 years of use, this video shows that after six years past the manufacture date the tires should not be used.
It also reminds us of how we read the tire manufacture date code on each tire.

Just checked all my tires, and all the neighbours tires! Found 2 1990. 1 the spare on the MH and the spare on my dolly. The rest of mine were within the age limits.

I find it interesting that there are still members on this forum who seem to be unaware of tire manufacturing date coding after the numerous posts regarding this subject.
What is even more disturbing is the selling of older, used tires that have been removed from RVs to tire recappers.
We just had a thread go poof that was about the selling of older tires.

I think its very important that a thread like this reappears every so often so that the new people to RVing or new to the forum will be made aware of the issue of aging tires. Before I bought my RV, I never paid any attention to the age of a tire, just its treadwear. Now, I've checked the dates on all my vehicle tires, and when its time to replace them I will make sure to check the dates on the new tires before mounting to assure I'm getting the freshest tire possible.
