DH - was in Yellowstone in June. FB is great for Hayden Valley area. West Yellowstone and Grizzly RV park are great for Old Faithful and upper and lower basin area.

Do go see the Grizzly and Wolfe Discovery center in West Yellowstone. Worth it x 10

Great BBQ on the north/south main drag of West Yellowstone. Just wish I could remember the name of the place.

Hello,

We stayed at Rush-no-more CG south of Sturgis, SD. You are 30 miles from Rushmore and Deadwood. Nice place. There is a lot to see around there.

Be aware that the Sturgis Bike week is Aug 4th and you won't get anything close. You can try Rapid City area but get reservations or go later.

Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park were great. You would need three or four days to see what is in that area. Also you should stop at Devils Tower around Sundance, WY when you go by. Big Horn National Park is off I-25 in Montana about 25 miles north of WY. You will be close to that.

Just some places around that area.

Enjoy your trip as it will be priceless.

We were at Yellowstone August 2006. We stayed at Fishing Bridge for 5 days. Made reservations 3 months in advanced. They were full. Fishing Bridge CG is the onyl FHU CG inside the NP. With 6 of us we need and want FHU. We used our MH to see the sights around the NP. There were ample parking in most places. Some are restricted to large vehicles. The MH allowed us the convenience of having food, restroom, bed, sofa, etc. readily available for us. Restroom lines can be long. The MH was a perfect shelter during a couple of thunderstorm while we were there. Having a reserved spot in a CG allowed us the freedom to come back after sunset an enjoy the view of the meadow, bisons, and elks at dusk.

Relax, drive safely, and enjoy God's creations (lots at Yellowstone).

Just left W. Yellowstone after staying a week and thoroughly enjoyed it. If one wants to see wildlife, best viewed in the evening hours: 7-9 pm in the Hayden Meadows area south loop.

Yellowstone is best viewed in 3 segments, North loop, South loop and side trip to Jackson Hole/Grand Tetons. We took a day off between each segment and just shopped, stayed at the campsite, or took in the local color.

Gas prices are forcing people to travel shorter distances and surrounding states are packing them in to Yellowstone. Washington, Oregon, CA, CO, SD,ND,WY and Utah are going to YNP, so get a reservation if possible. We stayed at Grizzly RV and enjoyed it.

Good luck and travel safe.
