I don't know about the rest of you, but over the years we have stayed home on the major travel holidays just because it's gotten too crowded (roads, campgrounds, everywhere) out there. However, this year we decided to go to the Hollywood Bowl to hear some great music and to watch the fireworks. All we had to do was drive up to Chatsworth, catch a bus and sit back and relax until it dropped us off at the entrance to the Bowl . What a great way to celebrate! Hope you all had a great holiday and celebrated our Country's birthday in style.

We spent our July 4th at Buckhorn RV Park in Kerrville, TX, with some wonderful friends we met here at RV.net. There was a nice barbecue for the campers, and a great fireworks show, too.

The 4th just happened to fall within the couple of weeks we traveled. The first part, we were in South Llano River State Park, a beautiful place.

I wouldn't say that traffic was any better or worse than any other summer week around here and restaurants were fine, too. We are having a really good time!

At BIL's house, w/family, cookout, pool party (didn't swim, too cold), and celebrating MIL's b-day.

Life is too short to spend it all in one place!

With great friends at Walton lake in the Ochoco Mts. Oregon.
I spent the day on my pontoon boat and I have the sunburned legs to prove it.

We always stay home, have a big barbecue, and shoot off fireworks. This year we had a small crowd, but still fun.

It was quite entertaining watching the guy across the street shooting of sky rockets straight above his house and seeing the embers bounce off of his roof.

Gave my son a couple bottles, ate a huge picnic lunch with the family at the hospital. He hit four pounds yesterday for me and manage to poop and pea on his mom twice.. quite a birthday present. Usually I'm on the receiving end of it. Watched fireworks and had some ice cream later on. Today we found out he may come home in a week or two. Best birthday/4th weekend to date!!
