We've done the area twice. There are no real nice parks in the area. We stay at Elkhart RV Park, and the KOA in Middlebury, found both to be just OK at best. Eat at Das Dutchmen Essenhaus near Middlebury to experience good German/Amish chow. I think lunch is the best bang for the buck. DON'T miss the new RV Museum. It is worth your time and money. Take your time and enjoy. Learn about the Amish/Mennonite culture as it is amazing. A very wholesome area of the country to visit. Enjoy.

Don't overlook the largest flee market (Tues & Wed) at Shipshewana, just west of Middleburry. There is a nice quiet CG ( I think called Shipshewana North or Amish Log Cabin CG) at the junction of route 120 and 5. There is a Dairy Queen type of business in the corner of the CG. www.amish.org

Shipshewnna North is nice. It is the one with the ice cream shop the previous poster mentioned. Shipshewana South is convenient for the flea market.

Yes, search this forum for `Middlebury' and read more than 100 responses. To cut down the quantity of responses you could then search the results for `campground'. Instant information.

Das Dutchmen Essenhaus is a great place to eat as we had breakfast there before going to the Flea market a few weeks back. Stayed at Eby's Pines and I will not ever go back there. Lets just say there is a fee on top of camping for anything you do plus a Wi-FI fee of 3.00 that is tacked on at the bottom of receipt in addition to camping. Other issues that I won't go into. The Shipshewana north and south campgrounds appeared nice but didn't look real close. Randy

We were there a little over a week ago for an overnight and thought the KOA was very good. We had a long, wide, level pull through and the Wi-Fi was free and strong at our site.
I wasn't impressed with Das Dutchmen Essenhaus where we had dinner that evening. there were two tables seated after us that got waited on before we were noticed and our server was not very attentive so therefore received no tip from us. I thought the food was nothing extra and was overpriced to cover the waste from the family style service that brought well more than two people could eat or want to eat.
