Before you spend money on one of those 12-volt thermoelectric coolers, please note that they will only lower the temperature inside the cooler 20 degrees lower than ambient. This means that if the inside of the car reaches 100 degrees in the sun, the cooler will only "cool" down to around 80 degrees.
I think your money would be much better spent on a small 5-day cooler using frozen Blue Ice or even using a few frozen water bottles and then you would have drinking water left over.

True, Very high heat is not good for it either.

I use a cooler when I'm in the car, soft insulated bag with a pack of "Blue Ice" type product (it's not blue in my case) The Fridge in the MH. Both work good

Here in the house I store all in the fridge, (inside the insulated bag) because the Byetta needs to be stored thus and it's easier to store everything in the same place.. I've not stayed in a hotel in years (Well one night and I used the blue ice bag that night... Plus it was cool, I was not yet on byetta)

Just want to add to what ladymc53 said in her post. My endocrinologist told me there is no need to refrigerate insulin that has been opened. It will last between 28-30 days after it is opened. However unopened insulin needs to be refrigerated until you pop the top.

Even armed with this info I still refrigerate mine.

That is exactly what was told to my wife who uses "Lelivmer" (SP not right, but heh).
