If you are already into a very active life style and regular exercise ++hrs a day Wii would be an entertainment factor. If you are inactive - couch potato - recouping - etc it is a great start and motivator. More like playing than working. If somewhere in between you can make it as easy or hard as you want. JMHO

I get my daily exercise by walking about 10 miles a day....
The WiFit is a Nintendo-like game basically. First you need to buy the Wi (around $250) and then each game (golf, tennis, fit, etc) is purchased as a separate cartridge which you play on the Wi. Games can run $30-$60 each. I have also been researching this as a great exercise motivator. First I want to find a store which has a demo model set up so I can get a feel for it. At home here I have a recumbent bike and can't take that with me . Walking isn't in my cards as I have "feet issues" (read pain).

vtchris -- exactly the reason I got it(crushed both feet 30 yr ago). Have a little problem with some of the yoga/balance moves BUT i can hang onto something - go at my own pace - nobody watching me - & i am getting better. Might try a video game store -- some of them out here have them set up to use -- it IS a lot of $ to invest in sight unseen. GoodLuck

Thanks for starting this topic. When we visit the grandkids, I've gotten to enjoy their Wii with the bowling, tennis etc disk. Good fun enjoying some sports I used to enjoy but that I'd not do "on the outside" anymore. Too much of a couch potato now. But one can really work up as much of a sweat as one wants and the first time I bowled a dozen games with it, I could hardly move my shoulder the next morning. Didn't know there were exercise disks etc. Will have to look into that. IMO the Wii is a great tool for motivating me into some real physical exercise in a fun way (Dianne, at this point in my fitness program I wouldn't find a 10 mile commune with nature to be in my immediate future) and a pretty compact way of having some structured exercise program in the small confines of a RV. I wish I had really thought about getting my own earlier. I'll have to have my SIL (a big box electronic store mgr) pick one up for me.

Original Poster here - We now have a Wii and the Wii Fit. When you buy the Wii at WalMart for $250 it comes with one controller and several games including golf, tennis, baseball, and bowling. We purchased another controller which comes with a few more games including billiards, table tennis, and about 4 more for $50. Then we purchased the Wii Fit for $90 which has yoga, aerobics, strength and balance training.
We have just started using the Wii Fit portion and as mentioned above, you can make it as hard or as easy as you want. I can see where the yoga and balance training alone will be worth it to me. I already feel more limber and flexible. I like the way it tracks my progress and that it opens up new games and challenges as you progress.
I love full timing but missed having a treadmill and other workout equipment for establishing a routine regardless of where we are parked.

we carry a wii and wii fit for the days it just doesn't cooperate outside. for the nice days, we bike, kayak, climb, fish and only see the rv at night.
in NC this year at one of the campgrounds we stayed at, someone had a projectr set up outside their big A and had a wii showing on the side of the rv. they had a big crowd around having a good old time.
we keep it to small crowds in our C, since room isn't the best factor in a 27 foot c with no slides.

Heya!
Like many here, we really enjoy the Wii (and Wii fit!) I've been doing the workouts for two weeks, lost 8 lbs, and brought my 'Wii fit age' from 34 to 23 (I'm 29). In the past I was into sports and such, and I have to say, this thing breaks you out in a sweat just as much (the boxing, PHEW!)! What the most amazing thing about it is....it MAKES you want to work out....it's fun....it's not a chore (yup, I'm lazy!) That and I like to compete for the best scores on the exercises;-)
The only bad thing about it, is that the Escalade REALLY shakes when we have a crowd over. Or you can ask our neighbours how much they love me now the day after shouting and going on while kicking several peoples butts in bowling:-D

Is the Wii Fit useable in the confines of a 24' Class C with no slides?

Travelmania - I would think a Wii Fit would work in the area you describe as long as you can have a clear view of the TV and still be able to swing your arms out without hitting anything. The Wii Fit is about the size of two bathroom scales side by side.
