DH and I are on vacation next week and planning a last minute trip to the Omaha NE area with the kids. We are planning on leaving Wednesday A.M. and returning on Saturday. Omaha is only 2 hours away from us. We are wanting to stay at Mahoney SP if we can get in but if not probably Louisville. We are planning on utilizing Mahoney's facilities, (aquatic park, observation tower, etc) plus a day trip into Omaha. It would be convenient to stay in Mahoney. My question is for the local campers at Mahoney, when does Mahoney's first come sites start to fill up? We do not have reservations but we do have a back up plan if needed. Any info is greatly appreciated.

If you are planning to arrive on a Wednesday, you will not have any problem. I have driven in on a Friday and always found a site, just not as much choice is all.
