We have an '05 3100SS Granite Ridge and yes, our door does hit the awning support, if the door is opened too far.
Does your door contact the awning support in a different manner?
The previous owner put a raised "bumper" stick-on on the door to cushion the impact if the door were opened too far and it hit the support but it depends on what angle you have the awning set as to where the door contacts the awning support so it doesn't work all the time.
We don't seem to have any trouble with the door hitting the awning support though but then we don't have young children using the motorhome, who would probably be more prone to not being careful when using the door. It is just the two of us and we usually hang on to the door and make sure it doesn't open wide enough to come in contact with the awning support...but there still is the occasional gust of wind that surprises us.

Our Winnebago does the same thing. There is a factory installed rubber bumper on the door where in contact the awning support. I put another one on the door in a position for when the awning is extended.

Thanks for the info i have talked to Jayco and they told me to get in touch with the dealer that they haven't heard of this problem. I have emailed pics of the door to the dealer and the way it hits the awning support. Waiting for reply from dealer.

My Winnie door hits the awning. I installed a piece of velcro, soft part of the velcro on my door at the place the door hits. It does not stop the hitting, but it does make it sound less noisey.
Have a great time camping,

Jayco must have a new service department! I talked to them about the same issue three months ago and they told me the same thing. I took it to a Jayco dealer and they just bent it back up so it didn't rub the door.

I have a 31' Granite Ridge with a carefree electric awning. Same thing. The door hits the extension when opened more than 90 degrees. I adjusted the awning rails so I have a pitch for rain runoff. Then I put a stick on door bumper from Target on the door where it meets the extension. Works fine. The bumper has been on for 3 seasons now and the awning and door are just fine. A $2 fix.
