We need to spend Aug and Sept. in Kilgore. Need recomendations on campgrounds in the area. Has anyone stayed at D&D RV PARK & CATFISH FARM? Son is starting a job in the oil frields and we need to help him get established there. Would rather be up north but you got to help your kids. Dave

Thanks for the reply southtexas. But we need something close by to drive out son to work and back until he gets a car. Also need a monthly rate that is $300 to 400. Thanks, Dave

There was one review on RV Park Reviews and it was not good at all. The person writing the review said that they lived there (D&D) for several months and indicated that it was less than desirable. They finally moved over to Shallow Creek Golf & RV Resort about 10 miles away in Gladewater. It has three reviews all of which appear to be fairly favorable. You might look into that one.

State of Texas official mileage guide shows that Kilgore is 13.5 miles from Gladewater - if that makes a difference. Don't know where the actual CGs are located though - so could be more or less.

I you can, go to Shallow Creek RV Park. It is very nice, laundry, latrines, hot tub. I do not know about their monthly rates but sure they have them. It has changed hands since the last time we stayed there.

Has anyone stayed at Hitchin' Post RV Park in Hallsville? This park had good reviews at RV Parks Review. But no swimming pool. Dave
