when I'm tired of the blood suckers I go inside for awhile. I do use skeeter spray but it don't help much.
We where in Door County for the 4th not one skeeter or biting fly.

Citronella candles. I admit that we aren't as buggy as some areas of the country though. Off! or some other co. has been advertising an outdoor item that is supposed to be better than citronella and cover more area, but that could just be marketing.

There are electronic bug repealers and zappers that help some. Good luck.

Does anyone use a fogger for the bushes?
One state park in IN (Tippicanoe River) has a fogger truck that comes around in the evening. Has anyone else ever experienced this?

...bugs seem to leave me alone; I think it's because I follow an old wives tale (?) when it comes to repelling flesh eating bugs: eat lots of garlic and avoid sweet foods. That and a little bug spray, and I'm good to go.
Anyone else use diet to combat bugs?

Citronella candles or torches are great! Using the foggers on the perimeter may help, too.
Also, if you have a High Speed Floor Fan, that will keep some bugs at bay.
Lately, someone mentioned the dryer sheets you buy for clothes dryer. Apparently the mosquitos don't like the smell? Maybe rub some on your clothes?

I remember that well. Screened in porches, certainly don't sit outside around dusk. Grew up in Michigan where the 'skeeters would carry you off if you weren't careful. I solved the problem by moving. The do exist here, but are rare. The last time I used bug spray was at Yellowstone 3 years ago.

Yep, camped in Michigan last week and still have the itchy red bumps. They are visious right now. Boy, a place with no mosquitos, I just can't imagine.
