We are evaluating a GS 2009 Super Nova 6400 and trying to gather as much info as possible. I have read comments on this forum and a couple of others. My question is where is there more detailed info on the complete package? Some examples, the grey and black tank are listed as 104 gal, but how is this broken down between the two systems? The engine is listed as 300 HP but I cannot find any MaxxForce 7 specs that list 300HP. It appears the levelers are electric but can't find any info.
In summary, are other places to find more detailed info?

I have not researched the breakdown on the tank capacities. The 300 hp engine, being a Max Force or VT 365 is a version they built for the 4200 motor home chassis and I have not seen that hp listed anywhere else including the International website. The International dealer in Dallas confirmed for me it was a unique version of their power plant. The electric levelers are by Power Gear. I have had them for over a year and they have performed flawlessly.

I hope one of the 6400 owners can answer your holding tank questions.

When I went to GS site they list 52 gallon each for black and gray tanks. Have you looked at the specs on their site. Conquest Motor Homes.
I have not seen a info on the 300 hp engine. International gave me a brochure on the 250 hp engine when I asked for info.

The brochure I was given lists the engine as a "300 HP VT 365 International Diesel with 530 Ft/Lbs of Torque". I have e-mailed International but to date have not received a reply.

As Ron said, the Conquest website lists 52 gallon black tank and 52 gallon gray tank capacity. However, if I remember correctly, there are two sets of black and gray tanks for the two bathrooms in the 6400. It is not clear if there are two 52 gallon tanks for each bath or two unknown capacity tanks for each bath that equal 52 gallons each for the black and gray tanks. I hope a 6400 owner reads and responds. Now, I am curious.

Call Gulfstream and ask to speak with the sales rep that handles your area.
I did this when I was ordering my 03 and he was a lot of help- he even gave me the name of someone in engineering that knew just about everything about my unit.

Hi Galena,

We purchased the 6372 in March and other than a few issues are quite happy with it. The 6400 looks like a great model. The black and grey tanks are 52 gallons each. The VT365 Turbo Diesel 300 horsepower is OK but a little sluggish going up hills. We found it does a better job when you run the cruise. I thought I read somewhere that they were going to a 325 horsepower for 2009. I think we're getting around 8 MPG but we tow a 20' trailer behind us.

The following link is one of Gulfstream's press releases. It is on the 6372 but most of the information is the same as the 6400.

If you call Gulfstream, someone there will be more than happy to answer your questions. Our service rep is Cindy Hathaway and Tony is their VP of Operations. Either one of them will be able to point you in the right direction.

All in all I think the Supernova is a great machine and I wish you luck and many miles of happiness.

Janice
