Fox News reports a 90% chance that Favre will play again this fall.
Whether it will be for the Pack or some other team is unknown at this time.

Right now, the "other" team is Minnesota. However, the Packers are NOT going to turn him down. If Brett wants back, the Pack is going to let him come back. There's no way the Packers are going to let him go! Brett is an institution in Wisconsin (Green Bay), and they're not going to let him go.
Sadly, Brett should never have "retired" in the first place. He wasn't ready -- he knew it and all his fans knew it. He still loves the game too much and actually enjoys playing it too much.
Maybe it was just a publicity stunt (although he certainly doesn't need it!). I don't know. However, I can't imagine that the Packers will let Brett go . . . and especially to Minnesota!
Egads, that's almost as bad as turning him into *gasp* a Bear!

The Fox report implied that Packers upper mgt had his replacement ready and pressured him into retirement, and although he wasn't comfortable with the plan agreed to retire rather than make waves.

If the Packers don't let him go they will regret it for years. How will they ever get another quarterback ready to play every Sunday if they keep him behind center?

And on the other side of the coin, IF they do take Brett back, you can bet that Aaron Rodgers won't be resigning with the Packers when his contract is up in another year! And I wouldn't blame him one bit....

Has anyone talked to Bret about this? Last I heard, he said it was "all rumor" and nothing more. Any chance this can just be a lot of hype during a slow news period?

Of course, you're kidding, right? John Madden's son can't even make up his own mind about whether he's coming back or not for the last two years and once he decides to retire you seriously think he didn't send out this trial balloon? The GBP need to think about their future and not BF's future.

I love Brett Favre.....he's a real professional athlete, not some phoney junkie in-denial, as some. He's also one of us Deep Southern Rednecks -- he's from South Mississippi! He hope he does come back!

Would be nice to see him back, but I put my money on him staying retired.
