How many times have you waited & planed on eating your next meal, while traveling, at Cracker Barrel? Yeah, great plan, Reserved RV parking and great food, can't go wrong here, right?
Wrong! After finally finding the CB located on the backside of no where......NO RV parking cause the reserved spots are being used by inconsiderate, stupid, selfish, don't care scum bags driving regular vehicles!!!
This is especially nice when you are traveling with one or more other campers, talk about a nightmare. I have talked to the onsight mgr.'s about this to no avail, after all the jerks are buying a burger or something, so they are not inclined to do anything about the problem.
Any thoughts on how to address this issue? DW & I are boycotting CB's from now on, just to much hassle & it has happened to us on several occassions.
Ms. Redneck, I sure understanding where you're coming from, but I think you're being a little hard on Cracker Barrel. They'er inside waiting on customers and not monitoring the RV parking lot. To answer your question, it's just the dumb-a$$ and inconsiderate drivers who parked in the RV parking spaces. Cracker Barrels get busy, and we've eaten at them dozens of times, but I've never seen them so busy their vehicle parking lot was so full cars had to park in RV parking. You should've gone inside and complained to the management, for whatever they could've done.
I'll be interested in seeing what other folks say.

You are in your car and the RV spots are either all empty or filled up with cars, and they are right next to the entrance to CB. The first customer that rolls up says "well, there are 5 spots, i can take 1/2 of one and it wont hurt anybody". so on and so forth and finally the last guy comes in "well there is just 1/2 RV spot left, that's mine"
If CB could get larger parking lots and give RVers the worst spots, this would not be a problem. It is a design problem when you try to cater to RVers, you have a small parking lot, and the best spots are reserved for RVs.
I like the restaurants with the huge dirt and gravel parking lot for RVs and trucks 800 feet from the entrance. You know you'll always get a spot.
I would park right behind the row of cars and block them in. They can be inconvenienced while I enjoy my waffles. The next time they would think twice about parking there.
How are you going to enjoy your dinner worrying about getting towed? I do agree with the idea tho.
2003 Jayco 308fbs eagle 33' tt, towed by a 2003 Ram 3500 slt, quad cab dually, cummins diesel ho, trailer towing package, with 6 speed manual. Hauls better 1/2, 3 kids, myself, and a 2003 ez go clays car.. I have added so far, neon lights, clearance lights, back up lights, black light, lift kit, mud tires, and everything necessary to make the golf cart street legal. It's now ready to spend the winter in the garage for more mods. More neon, strobe lights, alarm, a pa system, maintance, and whatever else that comes along. This golf cart does wheelies and travels thru 7 inches of mud when need be. Two honda eu2000i gens twinned to supply the electrical power. Latest addition an 04 Honda Goldwing. Would they tow the cars if they blocked a RV in? In most CBs we have stopped at there would be enough room for another RV or car to get by, just the people who parked their cars in the RV spot couldn't get out.

Well, let's see...motorhome tow, 2 hours ETA...3 if you have to wait for a flatbed lowboy, Seating, ordering salad, dinner, dessert and coffee, restroom stop....1 1/2 hours...at most...leave before the wrong tow truck could even get there and say, "Oops! I can't tow that, I'm drivin' the wrong kinda truck."
Those who are inconsiderate enough to take up an RV designated space with a regular sized vehicle are asking for trouble. I haven't seen a CB with a small lot yet...what I would consider medium, perhaps, but nothing I couldn't maneuver in...
2008 Itasca Meridian 37H, All. 3000MH (6-auto), Freightliner XC Chass., Cummins 6.7L Turbo, (Sweet! Delivery 03/12/08). Tow: '07 Dodge Gr. Caravan, Me, Him; Sugarbear, Apr. Toy Poodle; Pepe, Blk Toy Poodle; Hero, fat Siam.-mix polydactyl cat/Alarm Clock.
When there is no room for me at CB because some dummy with a car is in the RV parking, almost always I can find a mall or some other big parking lot nearby, then walk back to CB. And almost always the dummy finds a little note on his/her windshield after eating his/her pancakes advising him/her that he/she is a dummy. Depending on my mood, sometimes there are even bad words included.
Ever tried getting in and out of a Waffle House parking lot with a trailer attached?
The available parking is how we pick where to go eat. If the trailer doesn't fit in and out of the lot, with room to turn, I just will not stop there.
Someone taking the RV spot with an auto is not as big a problem as one we face more often. The DW is disabled, an when we cannot park in the blue spots, I am not shy about speaking up. Just yesterday, the man that parked on the striped area saved for a van to lower its wheelchair rider had to be educated, he said there is no blue sign on THAT space. A little logic and politeness, I had him exit the store and go move his vehicle.
If there is no where to park for a meal, go to a different place. If the lot is that full, so is the restaurant, and service will be delayed and substandard anyway.
