I've been a corporate accountant for 25 years for 3 different Fortune 500 companies: GM, GE, & Travelers so I think I am more than qualified to report on GM's liquidity....We just finished some new debt restructuring agreements before the end of the 2nd quarter. GM will probably discontinue some less profitable product lines, but that's it.
I agree. With a credit line of $7 billion and $24 billion in cash on hand, GM isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
I wish they would make a 3500 Crew Cab without all the gizmos (OnStar, rear DVD player, XM radio, etc.). I really don't need all that stuff and don't want to pay for it.

Toyota has ceased production of Tundra pickups. They hope to restart in November (both plants). They've offered a 60% salary to all employees who show up.
So, even Toyota is feeling the pain. I can only hope that Tony Stewart will receive that same help from Chevy as Rick Hendrick gets. And, hopefully Hendrick will supply Stewart his top-of-the-line engines. But, why would he?
I read that Haas made Tony an offer he could not refuse,....50% ownership and management for zero dollars.....

AGRNBRT SLOVE- the negative comments I made on GM were not from me. They have been made by hundreds of analyses who read GM's financial's everyday. The public seems to agree with them, GM has lost 80% of it stock value in the last year with 50% of the 80% loss coming in the last "60 days." They have reported negative sales compared to last year of -12.9 in Feb, -13% in March, -23% in April, -30 in May and -18 in June. This is after giving huge rebates that dramatically has a negative effect on their bottom line. Their cash on hand will not last long based on the monthly loss they are currently experiencing.

Tony said this morning in an interview on ESPN that Chevrolet was behind the deal that gave him 50% ownership of Haas/CNC.
Tony said that Chevrolet wanted to keep him as a driver ever since Gibbs anounced that they were switching to Toyota.

Liriope- You have to take the comments of the experts with a grain of salt. Rememer that before 1492 the "experts" said that the Earth was flat.
Engineer9860--the numbers back up the experts today, the numbers did not back up the experts in 1492. You can always find where every person including Einstein was wrong about something. Poor argument. As problem with GM get worse, I, not the experts, expect GM to pull all or most of their funding to all of Nascar. An obvious place for them to cut back with little repercussions.
